invinciblecarrot you shouldn't worry too much. it could've been anything! maybe he was just tired of life or something that you wouldn't have been able to stop. but it's still sad adn it affected and still affects you I bet even today which is why people try and stop suicides becuase it just doesn't affect the person, it affects everyone around them

I stand by my remark that if a person wants it done they need to include it in their will or something, as a person who may choose euthinasia may be on pain killers which effect their judgement.

Well if he commited suicide then he obviously wanted to die, and there's no point worrying about the past and who could've stopped him. Sometimes people who commit suicide aren't thinking clearly and they just need a way out. They can't see a chance that they will get better. They just know that they're in pain and that it needs to stop. They don't realize that if they tell someone they will be able to get help. It is possible that invinciblecarrot's grandfather was contemplating suicide for a long time, or it is possible he did it on a whim... we will never know and that is y suicide is so awful.

it's the whole mystery unsolved thing. I mean if it were a case where he was in pain or knew he was gonna die really really soon you could maybe see why he did it but what hurts is not knowing why it happened and that he's gone

i see what lobstrosity is saying, that if he wanted to die then he wanted to and thats his own thought, but also with azan. it would have helped if there was some explanation

Well okay. I think it is totally right to let someone pull their own plug. But it's not necessarily right to let someone commit suicide. By all means, anyone who thinks they can stop someone from commiting suicide should try, but in the end if it's their decision and they do it then whatever.

If they tried to pass a new ammendment which allowed freedom of personal life or death, I'd vote for it if I was a senator.
