okay, here we go. pick one, it's your choice... or is it? maybe you have already made the choice, or it has been made for you, and it has been predetermined what you will pick. then again, maybe you have control over your every action. MAYBE you have the power to decide for yourself what you believe in, and you should post about it in this thread

personally, I believe that everybody is meant to do something, and therefore has purpose, but that they are in complete control over their decisions

not really a debate, you know. There isn't any way to prove this, but for the record I think it's all choice, and you have to make your own decisions. There is nobody to blame but yourself if you make a mistake.

yeah, not really a debate, but oh well.

Well heres a way to use the bible, (for christians) god gives all humans free will, thats why theres bad things in the world adn why its all choice, thats just my opinion however I do believe some people may be destined for some things.

I feel, there is no destiny other than the one you choose. You make the call, everything is up to you. If you end up homeless, it's your fault. Complaining about it will probably get you nowhere, you need to do something about it. It's up to you.

This may be really confusing but whatever... I believe that there is a mix of both in a way were we all have our choices but since God knows everything, even whats going to happen, then everythings is pre-determined, even though we have choices.

sure, but God's not going to stop you from making any choices. Just because he knows whats gonna happen doesn't mean it influences you. There is no destiny, other than what you make.

im gonna go with the parrellel universe theories and say that our choices lead us down different paths, and that if we made a seperate choice, its a 2nd world down a 2nd path seperated through the 5th or so dimension.
but within one universe, everything that will happan, already happened, in space/time.

i believe in destiny because how do you know what choices to make if even subconciously you don't know where your going. Every decision is based on something likemorals. but that leads to the question how do you get your morals. Which leads me to believe that your path is laid out for you when you are born so evrything you do leads you on that path. It is way less complicated and easy to believe.

Easy to believe, maybe. But only for someone who lacks the knowledge necesary to understand anything but the most simplified version of how life works. I on the other hand do not believe in destiny, because we as humans make choices. It's as simple as that. You add the step that decisions are based on morals and then ask the question "how do we get our morals?" Well I'll tell you. Our morals come from the decisions of others. People who decide to teach us their views of what is right or wrong. So this rules out your theory I suppose. . .

I sorta have to agree with gamerman on this one. I've always thought that there were multiple ways one could die, and there was and endless number of choices you could make to lead you to different deaths. I tend to believe that there is a near infinate number of things any one person could do at any given moment, each choice creating a new branch on a big ol' web of life. As I've already said in other posts, I believe that the choices we make each day of our lives here, will eventually affect everyone someday. If I choose to do something or choose to do nothing, that choice will affect someone 1000 years down the road. Maybe not in a big way, but who knows? I think that we make our choices and then continue along that particular branch of the web. I suppose I dont believe in alternate universes, but I do believe in multiple endings through the near limitless number of small choices we make every fraction of a second.
