Animals are not sentient beings, they are so incredibly stupid compared to humans that they cant think about something, its only based on impulse not desision making. like a dog will only do tricks at the prospect of getting food or attention, because when it recognizes lets say you saying "sit" it remebers that if it sits it gets attention, it doesnt think hmm am I going to sit, or do I not feel like sitting, or maybe im sick of getting attention. no a dog cannot do that, it only acts on impulse.
So a human life is worth infinitly more than any animal life (unless of course the absense of this animal would result in human death, but an animal is still worth more)
Animals should have rights, but they shouldnt be treated as equals to humans.

well I see your point on they shouldn't be treated as equals but they should still get rights. a baby will become a human, yes, but at that point it is still as "stupid" as the animal.

Well if the fact that the baby will be smater than animals later isn't enough for you, remember that it is a human and must follow the laws of humans.

well why can't we make laws for the animals? why shouldn't they get our respect? just because they are inferior? I think dogs are inferior to cats and yet I still love them. especially when animals are getting beating and hurt! no one not even an ANIMAL deserves that.

think of it this way. in the past 100 years, humans have grown in wisdom and made new technology, and learned a lot. a cat, on the other hand, is virtually the same as a cat 100 years ago

Well luckily we have laws against animal torture. and let it be known that I am against testing if its to see how fast an animal will die or something, I am only for medical testing if your not trying to kill the animal.

well why can't we make laws for the animals?. [glow=red,2,300]because animals arent mentally capable of understanding those laws.[/glow]

hunting for fun and hunting for food are teh same thing as long as they use the meat in some way shape or form (like donating it).

yep, hunters who kill purely for the sake of killing it then not doing anything with the animal is just wrong.

Well yeah in my opinion, but still if they arent killing to bring down the population, and they arent gonna use the meat or anything whats the point? target practice? I consider that moraly wrong.

i agree!!!!!!! it's like killing a person just for fun and not eating it. I mean what's wrong about cannibals anyway? it's just like a rabbit eating another rabbit. or a human killing just to eat, it's just not on the menu

Ahem. . . So you are actually supporting cannibalism? Killing and eating other humans. . .
Uh. . . Yeah, we have laws to protect humans, not so much to protect the environment. Killing and eating people, however environmentally friendly, is (duh) bad for humans. And I am just saying this to prove a point (i'm sure you don't really support cannibalism. . . do you?). That point is that our laws are designed to protect humans, not other animals. Therefore any animal rights law should be made by the animals themselves, okay?
