Probably no one, but there are always other reasons.

money, decoration, publicity, you name it and it coud be a reason to hurt an animal. But only crazy people would hurt an animal just because they can.

Many animals would kill people if they could. We're just too smart for that. If animals were smart they could stop animal abuse much in the same way us humans stop them from attacking us. -Lobstosity Actually most animals wouldn't hurt a person unless the person was doing something that they thought might harm the animal itself or it's family or home. Most animals do not have natural instincts to attack unless if they feel threatened. Even sharks have been known to be playing with humans instead of actually attacking the human. In that way, animals desreve our respect because humans hurt just to make themselves feel better not always when they feel threatened.

Humans kill animals for our own benefit. Animals would kill humans to protect themselves, but that's it.
I'm sorry, but could you explain why they deserve respect for this?
It just means we are smarter than they are. They don't see the value in attacking humans and probably have no need to do so.
In fact I would probably respect them more if they attacked humans, because then they would actually be doing something. Plus they'd be standing up for themselves. That I can respect.

well then respect the sharks, snakes, and tigers, and even elephants adn pit bulls who kill and hurt people every year. and even pigs if you can imagine that. they do fight back it's just that they might not be smart enough to actually come up with a war. but they still deserve respect just like anyone else.
oh and btw in my book robert stroud (the birdman- a murderer sentenced to life in solitary confinement) said that he valued a birds life more than any other human.
now I love that and I would so marry him if he was alive and wasn't a psycho and murderer.JK

Okay they kill people and I respect them for that, but it doesn't mean we should stop killing them. That would be crazy to not kill animals because they kill us. Any animal that kills people has earned my respect though.
btw is it really wise to listen to a psycho who cares about birds more than people?

i agree that we shouldn't stop killing animals for our benefit like for food, you know cows and chickens and pigs but what about the animals that don't hurt us in any way? like deer and animals that are just beautiful and so we kill them for their fur, which we don't need because we have wool to make clothing adn what about for decoration? we don't NEED animal heads on walls, it is not a decoration!!!!!!!!
i think he's brilliant even if he did invent treatments to bird diseases that might harm them more.

See now, some people think that having an animal head is a good decoration. The fact that you think otherwise doesn't mean it's not a decoration.

well why would it be? they killed an anilmal so they could make a decoration our of it. why can't I be legally allowed to do the same with a human head or maybe even a dick or something? it still killed it for a "decoration".

That would be against the laws that humans have to protect other humans. Our laws only protect us because they're our laws. Animals can have their own laws.

true you do have a point there but that is why we have to stick up for them. they can't do that for themselves so we should speak for them. just like you with the abortion thing where we should speak for the baby. except this is with furry cute little animals

Well the baby is technically human (or if you really don't think it is, it will be eventually) animals are not humans, they still need to have their own laws.
