1:Animals dont have rights we can do whatever we want to them 2:Animals shouldnt be killed even for meat 3:Animals should be only killed for food in humain ways (dont vote, I hit post to fast)
Well ill post my views in a bit but heres a quote from a character in a game (www.nationstates.net)
"These nuts have got to be stopped," demands concerned consumer Charles Li. "They need to face the fact people want snack packs, no matter how many innocent chickens must be sacrificed. Besides, chickens would do the same to us if they had the chance."

lol I like it. I am for #3 because I love to eat meat it is like my favorite kind of food and yet on the other hand I love animals I mean I have 3 cats and if I were to see them die and be eaten I would kill the person who did that (not really but w/e) but idk how we can see the difference between pet and food. but I will never become a vegetarian no matter how much I love animals

I'm in favor of animal rights, but I wouldn't mind too much if we didn't have them.

you do know that we as humans are animals too? and also you just feel that way cuz you don't have a pet or something close to you like that. I mean what would we do our experiments on if we didn't have animals think of that.

True, but animal rights affect all animals. People who don't care about animals shouldn't be forced to.
It works both ways too. Without animal rights, there's nothing that says people who DO care about animals will be forced not to. It's all based on individual opinions that way.

I agree with Chica. We (humans) are animals. I love meat but I am also an animal lover. So I would go with Chica and say #3

why thank you for agreeing with me and lobstrosity if we do have animal rights it wouldn't really force people to care about them I mean we have human rights but there are still murders everyday, it's just if you murdered a cat you would be given the DP also that's the only difference.

I agree with Chica also. Humans are animals. I mean we must get food to survive. Now weather that food be veg. or meat. We are the same as animals. We must eat to survive and that is all there is to it we survive off what we eat and what we drink for that matter. But I sill think animal testing isnt right. We dont need animals for entertainment. We need them to survive and that is all that we should use them for. Just because some can be pets, doesnt mean that someone is going to use a cow or pig for a pet. And I highly doubt people will use dogs on a baraque. I am an animal lover. But, we need animals to survive. Unless you are a veg. In which I am a little. I only eat meat on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Punishing people for not doing something by definition is like forcing them. So yeah, animal rights laws will force everyone to care about animals. That ain't right.

why just because you think they are lower than us??? WE COME FROM THEM IF YOU DIDN'T GET THE MEMO!!!!!!!!!! we are them...yes we eat them and we need to, to be able to survive with the right nutrients but because they give us food they should also be respected. and just because there will be a law doesn't mean everyone will follow it, I mean there are tons of people who break laws every day. this is just protecting animals also and yes it will make people more aware but if you wanna you can go and kill cats and dogs adn eat them raw but you will get punished. just like you can go and kill a human but you will be punished

Yeah, that is pretty much the definition of forcing people. Do something and you will get punished. That's forcing people. Animals don't deserve our respect because animals don't respect us. Animals kill people all the time, but you don't see them arresting each other for it.

[glow=red,2,300]we arent the same as all the other animals. we think. we rationalize. we invent. WE are the most important species on this planet(besides mice and dolphins heh...douglas adams) and we shouldnt care about animals unless they are our pets. the way you are talking chica and nitemare(chica: we come from them, we are them) it should be a crime for people to have pets, it would be just like slavery.[/glow]

animal testing == ok animal eating == ok (and it's unnatural to be vegitarians[we are natural carnivores]) animal torture == not ok
and the way you rationalize, having pets is slavery, petting an animal that didn't ask for it is sexual abuse... ect ect ect

ok I see your point but I still think that just because they kill us doesn't mean we shouldn't let them also have rights. and what about the dogs called pitbulls ? we are thinking of banning them or something because they are killing too many people. we kill them adn they kill us, to me that is fair.

But we can stop them from killing us because we are smart enough to do so.
