NO! Think about it. You say murderer's don't care about consequences, but if we took away law enforcement and prison, then murders would skyrocket. And if you think otherwise, you just a stupid idiot. More consequences mean less murder any way you look at it.

thats different, in this either way the punishment is enough to deter all but the insanely determined from killing, brining in death penelty wont deter anyone who isn't already detered.
and why dont you conservatives stop taking away benifits, downsizing, and removing overtime pay from our men in blue so that we can do things that accually would deter crime

I have no idea what you're talking about, I'm not in favor of removing support from the justice system budget

I dont think murders would go up very much, petty crime would though, because most human beings are good people and would never do such a thing, but you are right we would start getting more organized crime, but that is very diff. from the DP

I do think murders would go up. Not right away, but future murders would, because eventually people would see it as less and less of a bad thing if it always went unpunished

the other thing is, the majority of people that are willing to kill are psychos in the ifrst place. they'd probably rather be killed than live it out in prison

Actually, I would guess the minority are psychos

the majority are just well motivated, and of the mindset that they wont get caught.

i think one of the reasons we have the death penalty is because the victims family wants them to be punished for what they did. and yet that "punishment" is really revenge and murder. I mean it won't bring back the victim or victims so why even kill for a punishment. isn't life in prison enough? if I went in for life I would almost wanna be dead so it's almost a better punishment than dying. like a worse better punishment.

eye for an eye... how can someone think that killing someone for revenge will make them feel better?

Yes I completely agree, either one would try to kill themselves or go completely insane, plus if they get life they are more likely to feel sorry for their crime, or forgive the victims families, and that will give them more comfort than killing the murderer.

If someone killed my family, I would want them dead. Call revenge if you want. Call it murder. But I don't agree that life in prison is enough. I don't want the killers of the innocent to sit around spending the tax money of the innocent to watch cable TV and get 3 square meals a day and a warm place to sleep. That is not justice.

i like how you weeded out the 1 luxury and some of essentials yet compleatly masked away all that bad thing, its like you are advertizing prison as a nice place to be.
plus when you base something off of revenge, its going to be far less accurate in courts than one based off of justice. Thats why you always see these murder trials with the victums family crying and saying "how could you let this man go who did this to my daughter" even though they have no real evidence and rarely even see the murderor's face, so they are just choosing the first target they see to plant blame on.
Revenge = emotial overinvolvement. Justice = less emotion more facts.
