well, you may feel some sorta bond with america, but I dont think that being randomly born inside a set of false boundries forces me to have any loyalty to the government of those boundries. I didn't do anything for this nation, and the nation did nothing for me (other than those which were self focused). And I have contributed or received any contribution to it by choise, thus there is no reason for it to demand loyalty (as you would to a family/job/friends).
Now if japan was attacked, I would proudly fight for them (or preferably come up with decisions that would help others fight more effectivly). All dealings with japan have been by choice, so there is a created bond, not forced upon bond, and the random chance that I was born here instead of there shall not influence my loyalties in any way shape or form.

well, you see, I love our country as well, but I would rather do other things for it instead of fight for it. for instance, I would rather try to invent things to help the everyday american.

I only would give my life to preserve ideals which I believe in, many countries including the united states share those ideals so I would fight for america, I would also fight for great britan as well and many other countries (except Canada, that would just be seuicide) I also would only fight for them if they were directly in danger of being defeated (and I wouldnt know if I could kill a man, many people think they can but they are foolish, so I would have to wait untill combat to see if I could fight even (and even then ide probably be the guy who drops a grenade and kills a bunch of teammates )) But what I hate is people who are ignorant, they say sure I could kill a man or some crap like im gonna join the army and kill people, b/c I guarantee you you may think you could kill a person but once your at that point you would regret it and often in military you will shoot women and children in cross fire so you shouldnt force any human to do such things.

I would like to point out that a draft would not mean everyone gets sent to a combat situation, so people like that could be drafted and sent to work with computers or something for the military.

Fighting for Great Britan and Canada is more or less the same thing. In most major conflicts they would probably join forces. I dont think killing anyone will be easy but I am willing to do it for any american president including Bush.
