In the land of Yrimmuas, the people are ruled by 4 powerful gods that hold the distinctions of: Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind. Under these gods are two deities, each one striving for more power than the other... until they eventually take the place as gods. Often, names are much too complicated for most human beings to pronounce, and the gods are called on as simply the third, second, or first based on different theological values under each element. The theologies are as follows:
First God of Fire: Do good works
Second God of Fire: Doing good works makes one superior to others
Third God of Fire: Doing good works should make one humble
First God of Wind: Work for self improvement
Second God of Wind: Improvement comes about through the destruction of competition
Third God of Wind: Allies are the strongest source of strength
First God of Earth: Everything is equal in the world
Second God of Earth: Some things have a stronger place than others
Third God of Earth: There is a place for everything and that place may change from time to time
First God of Water: There is a constant fluctuation of good and bad events
Second God of Water: It is alright to follow a good event, if you are prepared for the bad
Third God of Water: One must detach oneself from good or bad events to be successful
Under them are the demi-gods, those who contain parts of the deity within themselves. No deity has ever given this ability to more than eight followers at any given time; because it requires the deity to sacrifice part of itself to make a demi-god. Only those who have completely devoted their lives to one of the deities will be granted this wonderious power in death; living another life under the direct command of his ruler.
Under the gods are the high priests: One is the head of all the land, the head of all affairs of Yrimmuas. Below him are the other high priests, there is one for each of the deities. Their may never be more than one for each deity at any given time. The high preist comes to power based on bi-annual Tribunal competitions between the temples.
Under them are two classes normally considered equal in power: The tribunal of the gods, and the lower priests. The Tribunal consists of many loyal followers given small amounts of power from the ruler of their choosing, almost like lesser forms of demi-gods. It it called the Tribunal because there are three forms of this state: The senses, the hands, and the spirit. The senses are quite like police, they root out unbalances in the temple, find and arrest blasphemers, and use mostly heightened senses and smarts to solve their problems. The hands complete the physical tasks of their lord, Be they duels for rights of the temple, saving endangered citizens from terrible monsters, or even collecting taxes. They use heightened strength and divine power in their attacks to finish most of their tasks. The third and final of the Tribunal are the spirit. These are the ones that preach the word of the temple, and bring those to their lord's side. They use heightened charisma and magic abilities to complete their duties; these people only fight if it absolutely necessairy. Because of the great risk of corruption, only those who cast down weapons, protection of armor, family ties, and bring themselves close to their ruler may become of the tribunal.
The lower priests normally deal with the Tribunal, as well as with town affairs and travellers. There are normally up to three for each temple. The titles of the lower priests vary from town to town.
The next are the adventurers, these can range from the strongest and most holy paladins (under the gods of fire) to the most vile of assassins (under the gods of the wind).
This is were you come in. Every adventurer has trained in a form of art, be it combat, or magic, or religious redemtion. Be it known that those of good are normally associated with fire, neutral with water, evil with wind, and earth with simple equality. Despite your intentions, the people, and the priests for that matter, will see you as the gods you choose to follow, choose none, and you shall recieve no mercy from any. Blasphemers are not welcomed in Yrimmuas, and are often tortured if caught. However, that does not mean they do not exist.
The lowest of ranks are the commoners, often treated little better than dirt. Though these are the people that keep the land running, they are almost never recognized, even by the followers of fire.
The last, though most definately not least, is the "commanding force". The souls dead make up this entity. This is the only thing that can command the gods. The entity itself is not as concrete as the gods, but most believe in its existance. Any who raise the dead, or who are undead, are treated like the most vile criminals; as the people believe that raising the dead from the commanding force disrupts the balance of things. Beware all those who fit this desription.

A time of great plauge has fallen upon the lands. Seemingly overnight, every high priest vanished, all demi-gods were found near death... drained of their power, and the Tribunal was terribly weakened.
Disaster sweeps the land like locusts. No one seems to be happy anymore. You may choose to Role Play any kind of adventurer you choose. Even though the gods seem to have abandoned the people, everyone still follows one. No one can be a demi-god, or become one of the Tribunal (yet). So for the most part this is just a shell of an RP, you may choose what you wish to do, however you would like to do it. A good central town to start at would be Tyrem; a nice trading village. Small huts are set up all over for the commoners, small farms dot the land scape in the surrounding area, and there is a mansion for the high priest of the second Water deity that is now abandoned. Only a few guards remain there. The only places of interest any more are the trading post, and the large tavern, full of travelers and resting traders of all kinds of races, reliigons, and ideas. Start somewhere around here, it will make things easier if we all start near the same place. The day is dark and gloomy, all the sky seems covered by a blanket of dark, black clouds.
