They are both very different products, I myself have an AMD, they both are great, and intel might work a bit better with directx but AMD seems to be a bit more solid.

One thing I hate about intel, and this is what makes me like AMD better is the way intel clocks their processor speed.
Intel takes the highest peak of speed AMD takes the average clock speed
So on a box Intel is going to look faster, but it really isnt.

hmm, i've done some research on AMD, and im starting to get familiar with their product line...i think I might be going either way, somewhat neutral

Both are great processors, they are the same and the only reason to choose one over the other is due to which will run best with your other hardware.
