Should people be able to sue McDonalds for being overweight?

Actualy they somewhat are, McDonalds puts crap in it that makes it not only taste better but also gives it somewhat addictive qualities.
But for the most part im gonna have to agree with you, I just think they need to warn people about the dangers of eating their food (im glad I havent eaten fast food in about 2.5 months, and on average I only have it about 3 times a year).
People need to be told that its not nutritious food because the average human is an idiot (well American), they go to MD assume that its just food and that its no different than making your own food they eat a ton of it, get fat then sue MD which just angers me and since many people are idiots we need to have warnings or at least inform the public. (and quite possibley put restrictions on how much preservatives they put into their stuff, they might as well be injecting burgers with poison at this point)

people have their own responsabilities, they shouldnt be such pricks and sue for every little thing that goes wrong with their life.
i hate people who sue.

Yeah, like that one lady from france pointed out in the video "Its the American way to sue for silly things." which I agree with, there are some cases where you should sue but many people just try to get some money by sueing for stupid things.

well those who eat at McDonalds have compleat access to the nutritional data of it... so if they choose to ignore it, thats their own problem

Actually, I guess few McDonalds have that nutritional data. Those that do tend to keep it out of sight from anyone.

If you ask for the nutrition facts, I believe they have to give them to you.

Yeah, by law they do. The thing is many don't have them so thats where you can legaly sue them.
(In that video called Supersize Me the guy went around to like 30 Mc Donalds, only a couple had the nutrition data displayed, many didn't have any at all and some had them in far off places like the basement).

ya... well they dont need to display them, they just need them so that if you want them, you can get them free of charge. considering in all kitchens they have at least 1 card with the data on it, and that on all ingredients they order, they get the data, so they have teh ability to tally up the data, then they are within bounds as long as they are willing to show it to you, which most of them are. and if they arn't, then it is not the responsibility of the corporation that requires it, its of the individual franchise that doesn't, or employee that wont, thats at fault.

In some cases they don't even have a copy of them in the resterant. But that does not mean that people shouldn't for themsleves. I mean how hard is it to believe that McDonalds is not healthy? Really? I mean just look at their food *shivers*

well I say yes I some what blame McDonald's for my fatness as well as other fast food places now I know that its also my fault for choosing to eat there. but I have seen the error of my ways. see children don't know what there eating they only know that it tastes good. and then they want more, that how I was when I was younger. I cant say we ate out allot when I was younger but when we did it was McDonald's most of the time. also through age I have seen that another big part o my fatness came from depression after my parents split up. my mom me and my bro/sis moved to eagan and we ate out allot more. can you guess where? if you said McDonald's then you are right. I know that its not all the fast food industries fault but there is a large proportion that is. the more you eat the less you want to do the less you do the bigger you get. but if fast food was not so addicting then I may not have turned out as big as I have. I don't want your sympathy or any thing I'm not trying to get any attention out of this but thats what I think. I know I'm fat and I really don't care any more. I am going to be this way for the rest of my life and I except that. its really out of my hands now, but maybe if some thing would of been done sooner I may have been like the rest of you. the movie "Super Size Me" was made in 2000 or 02 I don't quite remember. but if it would of come out after it was made like all of the other movies then some thing could have been done I just hope that people watch the movie and see what I saw in it. I will never stop eating fast food but I have stopped eating so much. I guess thats a start but I think it may be to late...

I wouldn't blame McDonalds at all, since it's a free country and free economy, they make money selling burgers of an unhealthy nature. That's their business, and everyone else's business is their own.
