(This rp will be based off of the far future strategy game of Warhammer 40K. In this universe, humanity is in an eternal war against a myraid of foes, a war for it's very survival. Humanity puts it's faith in the Immortal Emperor, the founder of the great human empire, the Impetrium. The Impetrium spans millions of worlds with untold trillions of citizens. But humankind needs all of the Impetrium's might to defend against the forces of Chaos and alien races, who are intent on it's destruction. But now for rules. All general rules apply, no puppetmastering, god moding, etc., except for one. You may, and are in fact, encouraged to make multiple characters, as this rp is to revolve around small unit combat. Also, the amount of information is immense regarding the Warhammer 40K universe, so if you do not play it (and I don't mean Dawn of War) I must insist you please ask on the forum about the race you wish to play, and I will be happy to post troop types, weapons equipment, history, or any other info you require.(unless otherwise mentioned, all races are playable.) The races are...
The Imperial Guard- humanity's basic foot troops and main defense.Millions of infantry backed up by lots of tanks.
The Space Marines- humanity's super elite forces. Heavily armed, armoured and genetically enhanced to be super soldiers, they are few in number, but nearly unstoppable
The Sisters of Battle- An all female army of religious zealots. Mainly used as temple guard, they are few in number, and second only to space marines in humanity's forces.
Chaos- Humans who have been seduced by the dark gods of chaos. Their forces include traitor imperial guardsmen and space marines, as well as the demons of the chaos gods. YOU MAY NOT PLAY AS THIS ARMY. They are everyone's worst enemy, and would never ally with another group.
The Eldar- An ancient and wise race, they have elflike qualities, including great swiftness, as well as proficientcy with psychic powers. May ally with other races.
The Orks- Greenskins in space with guns. You may play as this race, but only as outcasts from ork society, as no normal ork would make an alliance with anyone.
The Tau- A young, yet very advanced race seeking to spread their dominion and bring together the universe underf their banner. Think covenant, but not xenocidal. May ally with other races.
The Dark Eldar- Piriticial and sadistic eldar. Some out soley for profit may ally with other races, for a fee of course.
Necrons- Xenocidal robots. YOU CANNOT PLAY AS THIS RACE. This is because they hate all living things, pure and simple.
Tyranids- Creatures trying to assimilate all creatures into their swarm. Like the Zurg from starcraft or the creatures from Alien. YOU MAY NOT PLAY AS THIS RACE. This is because they are interested only in assimilating all others, and there are no renegades, at they have a collective consious.
I think thats it. Also PLEASE wait for me to start the rp, as I have a definite idea of where to take this. I encourage all those interested though in posting their questions so I can gauge how many will participate, and give info on the races.)

((Okay, first of all, are we role playing our single squad? Or a single troop in a number of them? About how big are the squads? Are there any important traits for each group (even just local slang, etc.)?
I'm gonna need to know these things before I even start a character. I'll check back in a bit.))

( to answer your first question, either. You can play as a group of characters (3-5 is perferable, but may vary depening on troop type.) or a lone character, whatever floats yer boat. For the second question, I could tell you if you specified which army, because otherwise it's just too broad. sorry.)

(Space marines are humanity's finest warriors, as they are trained from about the age of ten to be the best and most fanatical. They are also genetically altered to be stronger, faster, smarter, and more resillient than anyone else. The standard space marines are armed with boltguns, basically hand held machine guns, and encased in near impetranable "power armor" with sensors, a HUD and so forth. These "tactical squads" have 5-10 marines, including a sargent armed with either a chainsword (chaisaw+sword) and bolt pistol (mini boltgun), or a boltgun. there are also two other standard squads, assult and devestator. Assult troops have jump packs, chainswords and bolt pistols. Devestators have an assortment of heavy weapons including missle launchers, heavy bolters (big boltgun), lascannons (fires a laser burst powerful enough to take down a tank), and autocannons (more powerful than a heavy bolter, but fires slower. meant to kill light tanks and heavy infantry) Both of there squads consist of 5-10 men, and wear power armor. some of the more bizzare units are terminator marines, scout squads, and biker squads. Terminators are the most veteranable marines, wearing the superheavy tactical dreadnaught armor, and weilding power fists (big mechanical fist driven by motors. Crushes armor and bone with ease) and stormbolters (twin barreled bolters). Scouts are marines in training, and when they are deployed it is basically their final test. They are more lightly armoured and armed, wearing carapace armor (worn by elite imperial guardsmen) and armed with bolt pistols and combat knives. Bikers ride motorcycles, and fight using the twin boltguns on the front of their bikes, but the sargant usualy weilds a chainsword in their off hand. They wear power armor. Terminator and scout squads are 5-10 men, while bikers are 3-10. Space marine armies are led by a combination of inspirational chaplains (armed with bolt pistols and power weapons (catch-all phrase for a close combat weapon with the ability to penetrate armor)) psychic librarians (nothing to do with books, armes with bolt pistols and power weapons.) and a captain (armed with whatever he wants, usually a stormbolter and power weapon or fist.) For fire support the space marines have dreadnaughts, mechs holding a mortally wounded space marine hero, towering three times the size over a space marine and armed to the teeth. They also have several tanks, including the predator MBT, fairly well armoured and armed usually with an autocannon on the turret and heavy bolters on it's side sponsons. The wirlwind tank is armed with curved trajectory missles used for long range strikes. The vindicator is armed with the massive demolisher seige cannon, hideously powerful, but somewhat short ranged. There is also the rhino APC, fast, but armed soley with a stormbolter. I'm not done and will finish later, but I gtg.)

Planet Kai-Mhar Verdi (capitol city) November 18th, year 40,203 0430 hours
Mission brief (131 Cadian)- On October 27th, a large sect of chaos cultists on Kai-Mhar suddenly revolted, catching the KMPDF (Khai-Mhar planetary defense force) completley off gaurd, and throwing the whole planet into a state of anarchy. The traitor legions arrived two days later, crushing nearly all resistance. Khai-Mhar being a vital port world, this planet must be purged of these traitor scum and returned to imperial control. The 131st Cadian is to drop into the relatively clear soutern end of Verdi and secure a landing zone for the armor transports. from there, all forces will press to the center. You will be reinforced by the 917th Armageddon, 18th Harkoni, and 274th Valhallan after the initial assult. You are dissmissed, and Emperor bless.
A Thunderhawk transport screamed through the sky above vogen early in the morning, several dozen more in formation with it. The back hatches opened, flinging out infantrymen and sentinels, which were immediatley caught by the white plumes of their parachutes. Among these troops was infantry squad number 291, led by Sgt Kije, floating down silently in their dull red body armor of the Cadian 131st, the notorious "red legion". Beside Kije were corprals Devereaux and Ales, each sporting their stubber LMGs for their fire teams. Flanking them were grenadiers Simmons and O'Niel, underbarrel 6-shot 60mms attached to their lasguns. And spaced here and ther were privates Taub, Halligan, Hager, Kussman and Hardin, gripping their lasguns for dear life. Kije looked through his hellrifle's scope at the ground below. What has supposedly been clear ground was now a patroll point for roughly seven cultists, and if he was timing this right, they would land right on top of them, and away from the rest of the platoon, which would fall on the other side of a bombed out city block. The alley they'd be landing in was quite narrow, and fighting would be dangerous. He prayed to the Emperor for strengh and grabbed a grenade from his satchel.

Then a TYRANID LICTOR jumps out of the cover behind him! In one terrifying sweep of power he assimmilates the poor commander. Then, 3 carnifexes appear over the horizon, but it is to late for our heroes. They fire their venom cannons and annialate almost all of the pathetic humans. Tyranids then appeared as if from nowhere, and consume all of the biomass from this world, and in the process add to their already massive army by converting the humans to genestealers!!! Thats totally what would happen.....

A Ex-Tau, Nix, comes to the scene. She is no more than 16 (too young?), thin and athletic, tanned skin, and wearing shorts and a tank top. She looks and sees a young man standing there. He seems to be surpised yet not so much. There is blood every where. She walks to him while looking in every which direction to make sure there isnt anything there that she over looked.
Once she get to the man no more than a couple minutes later she realizes he isnt human. He looked the way at afar. He has blonde hair and is tall. Yet he isnt human. Atleast not anymore. She is standing behind him in a pool of blood as he slowly turns around. She isnt afraid though. He may be a murderer. Yet she doesnt even flinch. She believes others were there to help to. But have left. Though he is a Tyranid he appears to have sadness in his face.
Nix asks him, "what has happened here?"
She gets no reply as he just stand there staring. She looks at him, not blinking but not staring. Looking him up and down. She slowly moves to the side. And looks at his face. He has no wounds. Yet he is sweating and you can see a color difference in his face. He just stands there looking ahead with a stright face.
Nix turns around while asking, "What are you looking at with such inspiration?"
He just stands there with her back to her now. Staring.
