Should the government's tax dollars help fund the National Aeronautics and Space Administration? I vote yes, and I may or may not elaborate later. Please vote and explain.

I voted yes, heres why.
1: Funding Nasa in the past gave us so many new products and broadended our knowledge of many scientific fields. 2: Space may be the answer to many medical issues as it is easier to make stuff like that in space (it can be more refined) 3: We gotta beat everone else to mars, just like we beat em to the moon. 4: If we one day get regular public transportation to the moon the US could make a fotrune on selling tickets. 5: Just for the exploration factor.

no way! why should we give money just to go to space? I mean yes it's cool and stuff but we could be using that money for something down ehre on earth like idk maybe helping starving people?
true it has given us velcro and other cool things but we shouldn't be having a race to mars

Funding Nasa could allow us to develop a cure for cancer and many other diseases, Plus we could figure out Microwave power (capturing solar energy in a satelite then sending it to earth).
And if we didnt we would never know if ants can function in space, or what happens when you detonate a nuclear bomb on the moon, people have to know these things.

NASA has come up with some very important technologies that will become very useful, such as slush hydrogen fuel. slush hydrogen is very real, despite what some people think. nasa is in the development stage, and it's very possible that vehicles could be powered by hydrogen fuel cells or slush hydrogen, thus eliminating the use of fossil fuels and therefore reduce pollution. also, theres many different technologies that NASA is working on that not only could stop global warming, but reverse the effects that have already taken place, returning the earth's climates to their original states
w00t NASA!

I thought they already have hydrogen cars, the only problem with them is finding pure hydrogen for their fuel cells.

They do already have them, but pure hydrogen is not the problem (it can be easily separated from water molecules). The problem is the oil companies don't want to go out of business and they get a lot of help from the government, plus the stupid soccer moms with their SUV's want the feel safe behind the wheel of a 5 ton chunk of scrap metal that gets like 2 miles to the gallon highway.

another issue is that hydrogen is highly combustible...

No, because seperating Hyrogen from Oxygen in water takes energy, more energy than what powers the cars, thats why they are trying to learn how plants do it, that and Hydrogen cars are expensive. The government hasnt put any regulations on hydrogen cars.

Okay for one thing the fact that Hydrogen is combustible doesn't matter because in reality it is much safer than gasoline. Whereas gasoline will burn slowly and explode in the tank, if a hyrogen tank began leaking and caught fire, the hydrogen would burn and rise so quickly that anyone in the car would merely need to duck to avoid the flames.

Yup, hydrogen is the future, its a shame we dont have a decent way of seperating water other than using electricity.

well california put a stop to hydrogen powered car research, then decided that anyone who buys an SUV doesn't have to pay sales tax on that purchase.

See? Government interference strikes again. The government and the oil companies probably have all kinds of deals. And california is a liberal state.
