I think you mean Jack Thompson But everyone hear how hes paying anyone 10 thousand dollars to make a violent video game to his specifications? Just for fun I was going to alter the eli program so that eli shoots babies at old ladies which explode in a bunch of gore and see if I get sued (of course I never would though as I dont like pointless gore)

This could be a debate in the debate board, but we might already have one like it.
Well, I think almost everything that guy said was total bullsh*t. Some was true, but anything about selling games to kids that he talked about was retarted. Kids don't buy violent videogames. Their parents buy them for 'em. Oh, and my favorite part of the Q&A: "Are parents paying attention to what their kids play?" "Nope"
at this point I didn't know whether to be angry or start laughing. It's like he made a point against himself. Maybe parents parents should pay attention to what their kids play, dumbass!
That guy and his article are outrageous. And at the end he had the nerve to claim he was trying not to let his editorial opinion show through. The whole thing was loaded with bias!
One part I found funny (a little) was the part about the news co. predicting Columbine 8 days in advance. I just thought it was funny because it's entirely possible that some kids saw that news segment and said "school shooting. . . now that's a good idea"
Okay, but he's right. Kids can buy violent games. Usually it's the parents though. Anyway, in my opinion I believe they shouldn't sell the games to kids who walk in the store and ask to buy them, but they should definitely continue making them and selling them. And if parents want to buy violent games for their children, they can by all means do it. Although it probably isn't good for them. That's my opinion though.
He thinks they should regulate all violent videogame production. Probably wants to stop selling them in stores. . . how infuriating.

Yeah, I mean I can see why he sued the makers of San Andreas, as it contained A rated content which can be accessed by modding your console, and how parents should be more mindful of what their children play, but pretty much everything about how all violence is because of videogames is crap.

Jack thompson is an attention hog. He doesn't target bad games, he targets popular games. Think its just an old man who wants to be remembered in his death.

I know several websites have his adress, and home phone number up, so if you really hate him give him a call, or stop by his house.

Yeah, except you can mod that in without hacking tools, all you need to do is alter the skins in the game folders, so now he is trying to get games to add code that prevents that (basicaly the program will check to see if a file is the proper size, if it isnt it means its been moded and the game crashes, ive build some code that does that)
Which would totally suck because that would mean everything would be hard coded thus preventing mods and even expansions/patches.
