Companies should have the right, but if they show it on lets say their TV network, and this network is sometimes viewed by children they will likely be kicked off the channel, or TV providers will remove that from their stations thus ruining the company, but if its an adult channel and they show it there likely wont be negative consequences so who cares.

okay I agree with that I just don't like the idea of having it in a commercial either. cuz they could show sex and then show coffee and be like "with this coffee EVERYTHING goes smoother" and that would be icky but if it was on a channel that you could use parental controls on then fine. but no nudity for the commercials please

well just because a coffee company could do that, doesn't mean it would, obviously there would be a backlash against the coffee companies. The most you would find is latenight fliers, 1 ad in 1 newspaper, and cardboard put ups inside the adult entertainment district.

well I just don't want little kids to see it even on accident you know? or people who are just not comfortable with that kind of stuff. and I think we should just keep it to people who want to see it just because of all the other things that could happen if it was just on tv.

well what is so bad about a little kid seeing a picture of someone naked?

when they are not ready for it and when that (being naked) is a private thing then no I think it is bad for a kid to see a grown woman naked or a grown man naked and if their is pornography then that is even worse cuz they won't even understand it,.

well if they dont understand it, then they wont care, its not going to be a permament image into their minds. Kids that young dont have the hormones necissarry for that type of picture to make any impact. And porn will be as controlled as it is now, only nudity (ads for porn dont show anything above one naked woman[usually with parts covered either at the artist's request, or to leave it as a come and see it thing]) will be more common to see, and the problems of "ickyness" and kids seeing it would be resolved faster than the problem would come up. Nudity isn't naturally a visually "icky" site to anyone, it has become so because of the views attached with it. And the problem of kids seeing it early isn't a real problem, A. They wont care. B. Whats the big deal.

If they dont understand it they will talk about it and ask people "Teacher what does a !#$@^@ do?" that is unacceptable. We shouldnt expose children to it, then again Europe is doing just fine.

same with japan... both of them are open about it and there has been no problems. in fact the only periods other than now where picture of nudity was shunned was dark ages and post rennesance, both very slow eras with backwards governments. Under the greeks, rome, and the renesance, sculptures and paintings of nudity were nothing new and there weren't any probelms caused by nudity. in fact, those were some of our most technologically prosperous eras. perhaps unconected, perhaps not (the hiding of artistic nudity could be well connected with the sheltering of children in other ways, which would greatly smash the inquisitive, and thus scientific nature of their generation. which in effect would also kill the economy on top of it all). but while thats speculativ, the fact that nudity doesn't cause problems where its not so heavily shunned by government, the only place where it causes problems is where the government does take action against it.
plus what if they do ask, obviously all thats going to be replied is "Thats where they go pee out of." or "you'll find out about that when you get older" and thats is, and they are rarely going to ask NE ways.

I don't think it would be possible to ban it but companys that are caught doing twisted acts such as attracting childen to a site by putting words like pokemon and yu-gi-oh into a description does deserve a fine or shut down.
But for the most part, people probably act a little to harshly on things like art and such.

well I think it's just wrong to have people of all ages exposed to this. what about the elderly?

what about it, first off you arn't going to be exposed 9 times out of 10, and if you dont like seeing an ad for it in the newspaper, subscribe to a different one (i seriously doubt both startribune and pioneer press will accept ad contracts). and its not like giant billboards.
NE ways, japan run like this for all its years, its one of hte eldest nations, and the elderly hadn't backlashed against it. Bascily all this means is that those who want it can get it easier, and those who dont want it, are going to be more use to seeing it out of the corner of their eyes like 5 days a year.

Americans are going to have trouble accepting it, its just not something we would be used to. In the end its a matter of culture, American culture tends to shun this but America is supposed to be culturaly diverse so I dont see why it should be banned.

well I agree with you on that americans aren't used to it. I mean we don't even have nude beaches like over in europe, how are we gonna get used to porn on commercials and on tv?

A. porn is already on TV, its not going to be on even more just if legalized B. as I said before, all it would be is one ad in a newspaper, not a bunch of tv commertials, because americans aren't use to it, and even in places there they are, TVstations arn't going to have that type of commercial bbecause they dont want to risk losing viewers. Only channels like HBO and Cinemax (the ones that have porn NE ways), would risk pornographic commercials, late at night, and not durring the movies themselves (they dont show commerticals durring movies, just between). TV has no risk of getting hit. Only some newspapers, and a fair number of books... the books being the main one (and honestly, how many children read the newspaper)
