hey all I just heard that china or korea or someone actually just cloned a cell. like a human cell and you know us humans we just can't stop there. I think they are planning on using this technology for cancer and stuff but knowing us humans it could turn out really bad. so post your thoughts on whether you think that cloning is bad or good or maybe in the middle like me.

well, it depends on what the purpose of the clone is to be.
If the clone is going to be harvested for parts, then it is okay ONLY if the clone never experiences it's own life, because as soon as the clone becomes different than the original, it's more like a new person than a clone.
What other purposes would a clone be good for?

well for science experimenting you could just use them rather than poor innocent rats. and how did you contradict yourself on abortion? true I mean if they did become more human we would just be creating more life. but I can definately see cloning cells as helpful

It's almost like we wouldn't be giving the clones a chance, which is my main argument against abortion. But then again if it's a clone then there's an identical one who has the same potential.
Again though, as long as the clone is no different from the original, I think we can do whatever we want to it.

but the original can't really be told what to do so just because it looks like the original doesn't mean we can still order it around and anyway I am not really sure but I think it is wrong to be creating human life by ourselves besides a man and woman you all know what I am talkling about, I mean if it's just like a maching or something we have created I think it is bad but hten again it could contribute a lot to society

clone organs? Do you mean stem cells? Because I don't think you can clone single organs.

Actualy it was just done recently, some one cloned and grew a finger in a lab. (if I remember right, it may not have been a finger)

ish! but I bet it would be helpful to someone who lost a finger.
HEY! WE COULD SOLVE ORGAN TRANSPLANTS THEN! a person wouldn't need to give up theirs so someone else could have it we could just clone it. that would be so awesome

I'm sure someone will find some way of claiming that it's immoral or something

I think cloning is only good if your only cloning organs, not the whole person, because as soon as you clone the whole person, it is its own life and it'd be wrong to be using it for purpuses such as cloning them then taking only certain parts of the body, because then the clone would feel pain too and it would cruel and unusual punishment towards them because once its created then it has equal rights too. Plus cloning is one of those things where your trying to be like God. But I believe its ok as long as its only organs.
Wow, that was all probably really confusing...

cloning is basically duplicating a cell right? well wut do u do when u make a baby. it makes cells and then they duplicate. its like the same thing. and when u clone someone, there has to be a carrier. it wont just appear. so it would be pretty much the exact same thing as having a baby. and that is inhumane to make a baby and then kill it for its parts. its still a person. its like having a twin(but younger).

i know, but as long as the new twin is exactly the same as the original, it makes no difference if we kill it because there's already one like it.

But now that it has a mind of its own, what if it changes its mind on certain things, and it'll have its own decisions. Thus it'll be a completely different being. Plus if there were twins I doubt you'd be willing to kill one of them.
