Naa, dont worry, myspace will never rule the world, google will buy it before then and make it cooler! w00t. But yeah, I used ragnarok for a while to get things off my mind, or blow some steam, but in the end, it all felt worthless, those who were on the debate boards absolutly refused to acknowledge other peopls arguments and we just stuck to our own futile infuriating rants... I guess myspace is good in that regard... But you be careful eli, wouldnt want you to get taken advantage of by some online pervert...

Oh, but I'd just love to be taken advantage of. And I dunno, Andrew changed a few of his opinions, and at the very least we learned why people that think differently think the way they do. It's hard to debate "properly" with a bunch of opinionated teenagers. We're all pretty deep thinkers and most of us have probably been told that and been praised for it, so it's weird when everyone else we're exposed to does the same thing. I'd say that even if it doesn't look like it, people are at least contemplating the opposing side. I'd also like to say that you can't really effectively debate a rant. A debate should be on fact, or in some cases, strong personal experience. Ranting doesn't generally exist to persuade anyone and rarely contains facts and almost shouldn't be totally coherent like a debate should be. In my opinion, a rant is the only thing that someone can post with no prior knowledge on a situation without being ridiculed for it. As long as they aren't trying to make people agree with them, that is. So I'll have to contradict you there, B-Dawg.

Yeah, ill give you that, but that doesnt mean that a debate cant turn into rants, as seen on the debate board. Not rants becoming or mistaken for debates, but debates degenerating into selfish rants. Dont get me wrong, ranting is good, but all too often a perfectly good debate is ruined... all too often, on Ragnarok.
