PB is fun and whatnot, but I must say Airsoft is much better for simulating military aplications as the guns function just like real guns, And if you get a good airsoft gun it is not only cheaper than PB but also more effective (PB is mainly so popular because its projectiles dont persist in the environment like AS does) but PB is fun if you want to play something like CTF airsoft is more seek and destroy or some people even go so far as to buy a huge plot of land, build two bases (with armory, bunker (for sleeping etc.)) and even go so far as to have games that last several days.
I only wish I was rich, because then I could get a nice PB gun and not the crappy ones that you gotta rent (my cousin has one its AWSOME)

Yeah everyone at Rooster Teeth (the creators of Red vs. Blue) had a game of Painball that lasted a whole day I think, that would be so cool.

Yeah, dang, now im stuck, I cant decide which is better airsoft or PB Airsoft Guns feel and look cooler Combat is much more realistic Is ment for stuff that the military does Costs less Paint Ball Easy to see when someone gets hit Easier to get matches (and rentable guns) Perfect for games like CTF that have more action in them im going to go with Both, I think ill buy my own AS guns then rent my PB guns that way its not that expensive

Hmm, I dunno, I think combat is more realistic with paintball but I suppose it probably depends on who your playing with and what the rules are and where your playing at...

Hmm, I dunno, I think combat is more realistic So you know what real combat is like eh?(i dont either, but this is from people who actualy have), AS is more realistic because it replicates actual guns, PB guns are far more bulkier and less realistic, PB is ment to be filled with action, it goes outside the boundaries of realism, however you can get some guns that are more real, for example, in airsoft you have to stage much more ambushes and AS requires that you be much more covert, PB on the other hand is best used when you are in the open and firing (if you watch pro PB, they never hide, well they do but as soon as they see an enemie they all get a good shot and keep firing, thats why PB is good for CTF etc. but if you want the realism of what its like doing missions in the military (like capture and secure etc.) you do AS (and yes if you get high powered TM guns, they are much better than the PB guns we used at that one place) I mean think about it, you got magazines, and the whole works that are required in using a real gun. Also you never have played a real airsoft battle, true battles have a plan, good weapons, better terrain, and several days to complete (those were tiny skirmishes we played not battles, true battles actualy require strategy) I mean with simple PB CTF we never had a plan, just you go there I go there move, with AS battles you get maps and you actualy have communications everything you would have in a real battle senario (i was not fortunate enough to be in an AS battle, but I know people who have been in them) But yes, it does depend on the game type, and who you are playing with, its just that in PB its far less likely to have someone in the bushes and a sniper up on a rock, and claymores positioned all around you. But for me, I like all wargames, so I gotta have both PB and AS battles once in a while

somewhat random question - does AS or PB really hurt as much as other people complain about it? cause I usually don't react to pain at all, but I was just curious

Obviously Paintball hurts more than Airsoft. Airsoft doesn't hurt all too much, in fact it only hurts when you are shot from like 5 feet away (and thats only with pistols or those really powerfull and expensive guns), besides that you just feel it enough to know that you are hit. And Painball can hurt, but because of the adrenaline, you don't really feel it too much, however if you are shot from 5 maybe 10 feet away it can hurt pretty bad.
