Sweet, I at least have two potential RPers.
I dunno about a boot camp though... It might work, but I can give you a couple of quick pointers of stealth which may help.
-Kill only when absolutely nececarry.
[/li][li]
-If you have to kill, dispose of the body, and when killing, leave as little blood as possible.
-Stick to the shadows.
-Scilence your firearms [doesn't apply to sniper jobs].
-Move quickly, but not so much that you're spotted [+stay low while moving].
-Be as silent as humanly possible.
-Keep as much distance from guards as possible.
-Wear dark clothes at night, and camo by day (camo at night dosen't hurt either).
-Have someone watch your back [if possible].
-NVGs and Thermal goggles give off small dots of light that can compromise your position, so be careful when you have to use them.
-Don't make a mess.
-Guards will often use flashlights. You can use this to your advantage, as it wrecks their night vision and lets you know when they are coming from a ways off. [Guards with Night Vision dont usually have flashlights more than gun attachments (where it compliments the Night Vision rather than harms it]
-Communicate silently with your teammates. [Hand Signals]
-Guards will often communicate via radio network. If you can disrupt the network, it will throw them into dissaray.
-ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have more then one plan and more than one escape route.
-Knives, bows and shuriken, though they may be old, are by far the most quiet weapons in existence. [Shurikens were rarely ever used before there were guns, so they won't be used in modern times, bows often too large (rooftop missions with little indoors will be ok for them{if your character has SOLID backround in bow shooting (not very many characters can have this)}), knives... those are ok]
-Keep ever alert for motion sensors, surveilence cameras, heat sensors and other traps.
-Guard dogs are nasty. They will follow your scent, and their barking can be as loud as any alarm. Use water to get them to lose your scent, or if you can't manage that, kill them and dispose of their bodies. Give them even more distance than human guards. [Dogs also can give false alarms at nothing, use this to your advantage]
-Civilians working for the enemy are still the enemy and can raise the alarm just like any armed guard.
-Carry as little gear as possible.
-Conserve ammo and pick up/hide shell casings.
-Don't wear clothes thas makes noise when you move.
-Guards can follow footprints left by mud/snow/wet boots/etc.
-If you can't get to a location because a guard is in the way, use a distraction, like a noise, to draw him away.
-Air ducts! [often noisy, and if caught, you have low chance of survival, use carefully]
-Make engagements as short as humanly possible.
-If spotted, kill the spotter before he can radio in for renforcements. [usually impossible though (nearly isntant, with head shot being only thing that can keep him from radioing)]
-Get wounded allies to a safe hiding spot, as they will only slow you down if they come with. [unless a unique skill of theirs is necissary]
-If you need heavy weapontry (god forbid) pick it up on site, as it will only encumber you during insertion. Dispose of it as soon as it is unnececary.
-If you are in combat and greatly outnumbered, run and hide until the enemy drops their guard. Also, don't go back and try to kill them all once they do, just procede with your objective. [or outnumbered at all, since most guards are more heavily equiped (and often just as well trained at combat), chances are they can take you out one for one]
-Use the environment to your advantage, ie. hiding under an empty cardboard box.
That's all I can think of right now. If that dosen't help, I suppose we could do a small boot camp rp, but it just seems more trouble than it's worth.[/quote]
I'd be interested (esspecially if I can take in as some sorta computer role [sniper is good too {alot of silent sweeper teams have one to kill a target at points where stealth must be broken}]). at this size, however, its not necisarilly going to be pure stealth, it might have to become a quiet sweaper crew (like in rainbow 6). Also pure stealth is almost always exlusive to spy/robbery missions, assassination missions almost always use deadly force from earlier than the assassination.
a few discrepencies with the list...read braketed post text

not killing unless necissarry is Not standard for heavily guarded targets where deadly force will be necissarry at some point and time, if the assassination crew is large enough. in other words, if you will have to kill late, and those late targets will make some sorta noise, its better to kill from the begining rather than have them surround you later.
