((On a side note, I can't seem to get the italics to work... or the bold... or the underline... help?))
O'Connor quickly retrieved his blade and checked his watch: 9 minutes until they were trapped. This was going to be close. Looking around he noticed that the crimson hunter was still laying facedown on the deckplates.
"Nine minutes, let's move people!" he shouted as he spotted the entrance to the armory. O'Connor quickly led the way into the armory and began grabbing weapons left and right, pausing momentarily to admire the two burned hunters in the middle of the area. As he stuffed ordinance into a nearby cart, he took a battle rifle and magnum for himself, as well as ammo for both. After he thought he had gathered enough, he checked his watch yet again: 7 minutes to go.
"Time's up, we have to get to the lifeboats now!" He called out, pushing the cart towards the door.
((Ok, everyone can load up on whatever human weapons they want here))

(just a reminder, Fasu's still out cold and thus can't get onboard a lifeboat under his own power)

(sorry for the really short post, my creativity hasn't been with me lately.)
Quickly grabbing two pistols and some ammunition for both, Rema stumbled after the sergeant. Then he remembered the hunter. "Sarge, what about that heretic hunter? I don't think he can move."

Roger's mind seemed to be elsewhere. "Just leave him here, or whatever..." He trailed off. He absent-mindedly wandered into the armory to select his weapons. His eyes strayed to another flamethrower, but he passed it in favor of a pair of SMG's and some ammo. Good rate of fire, good for suppression, but terrible otherwise. Roger also selected a shotgun and a small box of shells, then after considering the accuracy of his two choices, he took a magnum with one full clip.
"Not much time left..." He said. "Either we leave that hunter here, or we'll have to drag him to a lifeboat."

7 minutes until life pods are no longer viable ((Hey Lob, I've been meaning to ask you, is your pic one of the flood forms that didn't make it into Halo 2? I've seen something like it in a vid of stuff that got cut from the game. Anyways, back to the posting... I hope you guys don't mind if I puppet master you guys into a new hallway for a new fight. It would just be tedious to have everyone post again just to move to the new area. If you guys have a problem with that, by all means tell me and I'll change it.)) O'Connor looked at the downed hunter with despair. If they left him there, the team would lose battle efficiency; If they tried to help him to the pods, they wouldn't make it in time. There has to be a way...Then it hit him: he didn't have to lift the creature, he could push it. Quickly he retrieved another ordinance cart and attempted to lift the heretic into it, but the bulky alien was far too heavy. "Give me a hand here." he commanded, and together they were able to place Fasu in the cart. "Hoo-rah, time to go, I'll take recon, Roger, push tall, dark and handsome over there, and Rema, you have the weapons cart. Let's move out." At this point there was no need to have Rema lead, as there were many signs pointing the way to the life pods. They moved through the ship with what seemed like an excruciatingly slow pace to John. At minimal battle strength, the group was forced to evade as many conflicts as they could, and it burned his heart to leave the ship's men to die. Again and again he reasoned with himself that leading the group to a fight would mean death, and they would be no good to the crew dead. Finally they neared the beginning of the escape pods, and O'Connor peered around the corner. What he saw made his stomach twist in knots. There had to be at least twenty bodies. Marines, ship-hands, officers, they were all dead, sprawled everywhere in various positions. There were signs of a great battle, but it seemed much closer to a slaughter than anything else. Blood seeped along the floor, speckled with hundreds of bullet shells and discarded clips. Plasma burns and bullet holes covered the walls, keeping company to the large burn circles that signified plasma grenades. One corpse apparently had a live frag shot right out of his hand, instantly frying those around him. Another had been sliced cleanly in two by a plasma sword, the lower half ten feet away from the upper half. Looking further into the area, O'Connor saw how the Covenant had boarded the ship here: they used the empty escape pod ports as entrances for their own ships. These poor men had been cut down as they tried to escape. This carnage is still fresh, these bastards must still be around here somewhere. It was then that he heard alien noises coming from further down. Looking further down the hall, he saw a partially closed blast door that appeared to be broken. It was shut three-quarters of the way, and in the small gap near the ground, blue light emanated from the other side. Motioning quietly for the others to wait here, O'Connor crept up to the busted door and lowered to his stomach, peering trough the gap. Well the sh*t has really hit the fan now...A platoon. A whole damn platoon of covenant was occupying the second set of life pods. There had to be at least a dozen elites, veterans no less, as well as a half-dozen brutes, one of which was a captain. There were too many jackals and grunts to count. Somehow, these buggers had even managed to set up four light plasma turrets and two of the heavy variety. And to top it all off, there was a spec ops elite standing in the center, issuing commands to his lessers. This had to be the temporary command post, the very heart of the invasion force. The life pods were intact at least, but how the hell were they going to get to them? O'Connor was pondering these things as the radio in his helmet suddenly crackled to life, "Sergeant O'Connor, respond." John scuttled back from the door a bit to avoid detection, "What the hell? Who is this?" "Corporal Perez here, Sarge, my helmet's HUD picked you up on the other side of these covies, our data was recently updated to include you in our roster. I've heard many things about you, Cutter." "No time for that, we have to get to the life pods in... 4 minutes or they'll fry in the atmosphere. Tell me your situation." "Well, there's five of us on the other side of these aliens. Our armaments are three battle rifles, two SMG's, and everyone has their sidearm fully loaded." "Ok then, we have to initiate an attack together if we hope to have a chance. I only have two others with me that I can commit to battle, but we have a lot of ordinance from the armory. I'll get my group ready, wait for my signal to attack." "Roger that sarge." John crept back to Roger and Rema and filled them in on the situation. "Ok, load up and meet me by the door." He quickly strapped on heavier armor from the cart, favoring protection over mobility for this encounter. He then taped two magnums to his ankles and slung his battle rifle over his back, grabbing a rocket launcher and ammo from the cart as well. Then he crept back to the door. Cursing his luck, he willed his teammates to hurry up. ((Ok then, select what you want from the cart. Feel free to take more than two weapons as long as it makes sense, like my char. taking two pistols and taping them to his ankles. Demon, if you want Fasu in this fight, feel free to have someone heal him somehow, or have him just recover. Hunters are a collection of thousands of worm-like creatures that gather to form one being. So maybe he can recover his wounds on his own as well. Anyways, I have to go sleep now, no more complaining about me posting for a day or two now, lol. I tend to value quality and length over speed it seems.))

(heh, no problem with me, Trigun, I'd rather have one great post like this a week than three crap ones a day. Anyhow, my creative spark is around here somewhere, I'll find it by the time I'm done being OOC... hm. What do you get when you take Rema to a slaughterhouse? Lots and lots of vomit... be sure to bring some medicine for that sick stomach... right, there is my spark. On to the post!)
How many did he say there were? Damn, I was hoping to escape this without much more bloodshed. I suppose I should stop counting my flood before they hatch... Peering into the weapons cart, Rema grabbed two fresh pistols, a few clips of ammunition, and a small dose of courage. As an after thought, He grabbed a grenade and a third pistol, stowing each in a pocket in his coat. The technician brushed a fallen strand of hair from his eye, his forehead was slick with a nervous sweat. Reaching into his coat once more, Rema retrieved a handkerchief. Dabbing some of the offensive liquid off, the crewmen then tied it together around his head as a sweatband, letting the excess cloth fall behind his head. With his hand, Rema checked for his new favorite melee weapon - the energy sword- and was contented when he drew his hands across the warm metallic cyllinder. Loading a clip into each of his pistols, Rema stowed one in a belt loop, hodling the other one as steady as he could in his wavering hands. Nodding his readiness to the sergeant, Rema took one last deep breath of tranquility before, he feared, the storm.

((sorry about not posting. My mom (aka Hitler) is doing what she does best. That is, she is making up arbitrary rules and enforcing them at random. This includes me not being able to use the computer for 2 weeks (fortunately she doesn't realize i'm still able to use a mac keyboard that we have (she took away the real keyboard)).
Also it seems there will be brutes in this fight, and I don't know anything about the fighting tactics of brutes, so I will avoid fighting them.
in regards to your question about my pic, it is actually a monster from resident evil, although now that you mention it, it does look a bit flood-like.
i don't have a lot of time left, so sadly I can't post right now. I'll try to post tomorrow, so don't start the big fight without me ;D))

((Okay, here I go))
Roger glanced one last time at the still immobilized hunter heretic, then ambled over to the cart to select weapons. His allies had already chosen mainly accurate weapons, so Roger grabbed his two SMG's and loaded them, in case anyone needed cover fire. Roger paused for a moment, then grabbed 4 grenades. With so many covenant in such a small area, grenades would be a quick way to deal a lot of damage. Roger did not feel like dying though. He took some heavy armor from the cart and strapped it on, then grabbed a shotgun in case one of the covenant got a little too close for comfort.
Satisfied with his choices, Roger walked slowly to the door and leaned against the wall near O'Connor and Rema.
"Whenever you're ready then, sarge. You give the signal."
I guess I'll have to stick with these guys a little while longer, at least until we reach the planet safely. Then I'll get rid of them...

((Ok, Demon, if you want to be in the battle, you're going to have to post relatively soon. Whenever you guys think we should just continue with him unconscious, just tell me and I'll get this moving.))

(that, Lobs, is because I was in D.C.)
The body of a hunter is a remarkable thing. A single hunter is a collection of hundreds of smaller creatures, all of which play a role in keeping the vast being what it is. When some are destroyed, certian parts of the being may be lost. As a collective, they all contribute to a hunter's mental functions as well. But what happens when several key strands of the hunter are lost?
The hunter on the cart stirred, then opened what served as it's eyes. There were shapes of creatures around it...what were they called...humans? Yes, humans! That was it! But what where they doing?
The bulky figure flopped out of the munitions cart, roughly landing on it's feet and clutching it's head.
"Unngh.... where am I?"
Wait...who am I?

((EvilTrigun, would it be at all possible for me to possibly join this RP? IF so, should I make a new person, or take over Corporal Perez or something?))

(( sorry but this will be an out of character post for a reason I'll explain later... to Jiub: you can definitely join the RP, as long as you do a couple of things: 1: Read the RP so far, or at least the summary. 2: If not already, become familiar with the Halo 2 weapons (my summary of the human ones is around here somewhere) Also, you can make a new character if you wish, as there are still plenty of Marines and Crew trying to get off the ship. On the other hand, if you want Corporal Perez, go right ahead. Give him any personality you want, any past you want. To Demon: I like your new post with the hunter getting amnesia of sorts. I do have a question though. Do you want our characters to interact with your character to help him remember? I think there are only 4 minutes left for the lifepods, so it'd be tight, but if it works, it works. Or do you want our characters to start the battle, not hearing your character on the other side of the room? Whatever you want, and no problem about the lack of posts. This summer I'm going to have to go away for around 2 weeks probably without internet . Although it IS at Yale campus ;D.))
