good for you, playing FF10. Althogh technically not a strategy game, it does take strategy, because each character has a specific talent, which you need to use to your advantage.

they aren't distinctly different
tactics strategy strategies tactical
They are essentially the same, and why do you have to argue about everything?
Strategy involves tactics, so how could something have tactics and not strategy?

a car involves a wheel, doesn't mean they are one and the same. Tactics are DISTINCTLY different than strategy, esspecially when it comes down to STRATEGY GAMES. In fact, one of the biggest debates and differentiation in these games is the importance of strategy vs. tactics in determening winners. As a key element of gameplay within the genra, they should and will be differentiated within this forum (as you will find in ANY other strategy game forum, or chess game forum, or war game forum, or war forum, ect.)

Let me ask you a simple question. Does a true strategy game involve strategy?

i agree with lobstrosity on this one, and as far as FFX strategy goes, for me, kimahri started out on his own path, then he went to lulus, and now he's on yuna's, and later he'll be on aurons. good old kimahri...

FFX belongs on the FF board, not here. It is in no way a strategy game, and I say that from experience.

I know it's not a strategy game, but it does involve some strategy.
