I say we go as far as anyone who has the money and the technology wants to go, the government should back off.

The government, or Religion. Our constitution "gurantees" seperation of church and state but its just not true.

Religion binds us all with morals, religion can be a great thing, it just gets all wrong when you have church, a group of people telling people how the religion works just doesnt work today. Which is why im hoping we will see more and more people who are "unlead" christans meaning they follow what Christ taught, develope their own morals but are not lead by a church.
I am one of these people, allthough I am Catholic and I do go to church I do not bow nor listen to what the church says and my views on morals are very different than theirs.

pretty sure 'unlead christian' shouldn't be a religion, theres this really cool think called 'being a good person and not killing/rapping/torturing people because you have a sick and twisted mind'.
back onto topic.. I have nothing to contribute

why shouldn't it be a religion. a religion is... 1. the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. 2. a particular system of faith and worship. 3. a pursuit or interest followed with devotion. -Oxford English Dictionary
as far as I can see, it fits all those categories. Plus has not all religions started as someone who had their own ideas on religion. is that not how judism started, christianity, islam, buddism, hinduism, and practically all the otehrs started. What was Martan Luther but someone who decided that religion was one's own faith, and "god's" directions and jesus's "teachings", instead of the spacific interpretation of one mortal being. so how would a christian who's lead their own interpritation and followings of the church be any less of a religion than to listen and follow other's interpritation.
NE ways, alot of things have been exagerated to say we were playing "god". comeing up with theorys of the creation of man and creation of universe, and even how our solar system works, have been said to be "playing god". C-sections was once "playing god", test tube babies was once "playing god". when it comes down to it, genetic research in 50 years or so will be normal, and no longer "playing god", and we will be calling something new as "playing god", when in reality, nothing ever plays to that amount. We will play god only if we can become energy based omnipotent beings, and as far as im concerned, thats nothing to be scared of.

The way I see it as soon as you start naming things, people will 'think to far into it' and then its not even what it started as. Somethings are better left unsaid. When you give something a name, you have to be able to define it to others so they can understand, but if when you are defining that thing you have named (in this case a religion) and you forget one tiny part that totally makes it what it is, then when you go back to define it to someone else and you add that one thing you forgot its not what the first person believes it is. Then people will begin to argue and fight and make smaller groups of their own and it will start all over again. You don't have to name something to do it, and when you do it looses what it was in the first place. So maybe you could give it a name and call it a religion, but you don't have to do that before you believe in it or act on it. And if others believe it too then good for you, we can all be better people without killing each other over it.

ummmm.... too hard to follow... and the only thing I can get out of it is that you say something doesn't need a name to be a religion.
NE ways, I made my point on what I think of stem cell research

I understand what she meant perfectly.
You can never explain something exactly the way it is in your mind, so if you try, it might end up a little differently and then arguments could get started. That's why you should keep your ideas to yourself and trust that other people will have the same idea on their own.
Correct me if that's wrong, btw.
