Sullivan barely heard what the technician said, and instead turned to notice the man who lay on the ground. He rushed towards him, and knelt beside him. "Are you okay?" asked Sullivan as he surveyed the man's body, looking for injuries.

((Ok, I know that I've been gone for months, and I have no excuse, except that I did really want to post. I will come up with a story reason for my absense, but feel free to tell me I'm a lazy idiot.))
Deep in the crashing Mantis, the piecemeal A.I known as Yossarian quietly activated. Scanning her creator's body with her internal probe, she determined that he was unconscious, and slowly leaking methane. All her circuits screamed for a reason she did not yet understand. Struggling to ignore the stream of nigh-incomprehensible data, she attempted to send a small electrical pulse into Lt. Pip Baza, hoping to awake his methane-starved mind. She was rewarded by small movements, and a groan. "What the-" he said, raising himself to a standing position. He took in the surroundings, the inside of a Pelican cruiser, the control pad of which he had been slumped over, and muffled explosions from beyond. "Yossarian, what happened?" "After losing communications in the fight to secure the armory, sir, you attempted to reach Captain Fasu near these vehicles, but were unsuccessful, as he had already departed. You then shut me off for power reasons, and attempted to activate this ship. Unfortunately, a unnoticed crack in your methane canister caused you to black out momentarily. I awakened and attempted to wake you as well. If you were to connect me with this ship, I might be able to activate it's thrusters." "But I can't fly this damn humie ship!" Pip said indignantly as he searched for something to patch his methane leak temporarily. Picking up a new, fresh canister he found on the body of a Grunt just outside the Pelican, he quickly attached it. "I believe that even in the military, humans place safety at a very high priority. If you were to point this ship at the ground and hold tight, I doubt you will come to much harm," Yossarian replied. "Fine, do it," grunted Pip. He attached Yossarian carefully to the dash, and, within seconds, the door of the Pelican shut with a snap, and a planet filled the screen of the outbound aircraft. ------------------------------------ As the Mantis slowly broke apart as it entered Marduk's atmosphere, a small ship left the wreckage, powered it's thrusters, and smashed uncerimoniously into the planet's surface. A small figure emerged. ------------------------------------- Pip looked around, and hearing the sound of voices, quietly approached a glade with a plume of smoke above it. He saw the Captain looking dazed, with a small group of humies around him. He recognized one of them as the human Cutter. He stepped out from behind his rock and called, "Captain Fasu, Lt. Pip reporting alive!" Suddenly he realized: No other Covenant? Just Fasu? But that meant that the rest of the crew, his friends, his comrades were all... dead.

((Can someone with authority please remove Spike's post? It sort of sticks out.))
O'Connor signaled to Corporal Perez and they immediately began sorting through the supplies and setting up the weapons cart to transport whatever had survived the violent landing. He was capable of administering first aid to Rema and Roger, but judging at a glance, they'd be fine. Hurt, but fine. Right now it was more important that everyone get as far away from the wreck as possible before Covenant found the crash site.
Wait a minute...
John looked out at the desert sands, then to the weapon cart's wheels. "sh*t, we're not going anywhere with this cart, Perez. Looks like we have to load up."
Grudgingly the sergeant removed everything from the cart. He especially hated the fact that they couldn't bring the pelican's 50 cal. turret which he had taken the liberty to remove.
Suddenly a burst of static washed over the comm system in the marines' helmets. It was full of interference and static noises, but some words could be made out.
"This is Lt. ....... Taking command .......... regroup .......... bio-dome.........." A small map appeared on the helmets' HUD, mapping out the desert, the party's current position, and what appeared to be a city labeled 'Rally Point X-Ray'. Oddly enough the town did seem to have a biodome surrounding it, most likely to protect it from the desert's harsh conditions. O'Connor figured that they were roughly an hour away from the rally point. He failed to wonder why the communications satellites around the planet were still up.
The transmission ended as abruptly as it began, leaving both marines staring at each other in thought for a moment.
The sergeant turned to look at Rema and Roger. Both appeared to be medicated and patched up as well as could be done in such a short time. Sullivan must have been treating them while he had been packing. He walked over to Rema and Roger, administering a stim pack to Rema and handing one to Roger. Hopefully the shots of adrenaline would help them traverse the desert. If we don't get cut down by Covenant aircraft...
"We need to move out again, people. Perez and I just got word from a higher-up, we need to regroup in the area's city. Take what arms you can, but be ready to carry it a distance," He looked over at Rema and Roger again,"Can either of you walk on your own?"
He re-slung his battle rifle and checked that both magnums were still taped to his ankles, making sure to have a couple spare clips for each.
((Again, if anything I've done here interferes with someone's character or anything, feel free to tell me and I will gladly change what is needed.))

Roger nodded to the sergeant. "I can walk on my own, don't worry." Roger made sure he still had his magnum with a full clip. Roger had to leave the shotgun, and only took one SMG and two extra clips for it.
"This should be enough. . ." He thought

((LOL, this is a great story. So, Lobstrosity and I had an economics project, and we needed two people to support our product, so one of them was a lobster-type thing called "Lobstrosity" (yes, that is where the name comes from), and the other was a duct tape stick figure with a hat that made him look like the pope. So, long story short, my avatar is a duct tape representation of the pope))

Um. . . no, that is not where the name comes from. It was one time where I used the name, but not the origin of the name.

Fasu picked up a battle rifle, then deciding to use his strength be as helpful as possible, simply grabbed the crate and hefted it onto his shoulder with one arm. Then hearing a voice, he turned his head to see a grunt come out from behind a rock and call to him. Lt. Baza, it called itself? Sounded familliar somehow.
"Yeah, I'm Fasu," he shouted back "but who are you?"

Pip ran up and replied, not missing a beat, though clearly distressed by his captain's words: "Sir, you are Captain Ignasia ((sp?)) Fasu, of the mercenary ship Shalashaska. I am your leutenant Pip Baza, leader of stratigic Unggoy attacks. Our ship was... {at this point his voice shook a bit} destroyed during a fight with the Covenant over a humie ship. I lost contact with you and passed out due to methane loss. What happened to you?"
Pip looked at the human Cutter, who seemed to be in charge. His eyes were not accusing, merely wary: "What have you done to Fasu? What are you planning to do next?"

Damn, no covenant is a good covenant...
O'Connor turned toward the grunt called Pip, "Your buddy here is having a bit of an identity crisis. As for where we're going, there's a Biodome about an hour from here. We need to get there and regroup with the other... survivors... before the enemy hunts us down one by one."
Turning to Perez he said, "Corporal give me a hand over here," Together the two marines lifted Rema, each one taking and arm.
"Time to move out, we don't want to be late to the party."
As the group marched out into the swirling sands, the Sergeant paused and pulled the pin on a grenade, tossing it into the fuel tank of the downed Pelican.
I will not let these men die under my command, he thought as the ship erupted in flames behind him, leaving little wreckage visible.
((Just to remind everyone, Perez is a puppet character, feel free to take control of him at any time if you need to. I for example used him to help carry Rema. Also, I need to know who is still with this RP, so please make a post of your character walking through the desert with the group. They can have a conversation, think about their past or how they got here, anything. I hope this didn't die in my absence. I will wait as long as I think is beneficial to the RP for someone to post.))

Roger walked slower than the rest, but not because of the pain. He was deep in thought.
(yo, I'm still in the RP)

Pip followed, hefting his newly-aquired SMG and checking to make sure his plas grenades were ready on his belt. ((I'm in, I just wasn't posting because I had the last post))
