Oh, fine... Alignment: N (maybe NG) Religion: What gods are in the setting? Personality: An amiable guy who tries to help those in need, but has a severely over-reactive self-preservation instinct. Character Traits: Cautious (maybe Quick as well) Character Flaws (if any): Not sure yet. Story Item (dont need to decide now though): Straw Hat of Intelligence, baybee! In answer to Religion: Use the DnD pantheon. Also as far as alignment goes, im not too strict on that, if you are in doubt or want to see how it goes, just be Neutral and you can work it out based on how it goes.

Alright, so here is my character:
As a small child, Draxel was brought up by the stories told by the elders of the small village in which he lived. The stories that he treasured the most were the ones about dragons. Draxel was always fascinated by the descriptions of the majesty portrayed by dragons, particularly bronze dragons. However, his father was a priest of Pelor, and tried to focus his son on the education of the teachings of Pelor, and not on the discussions of dragons. Draxel had never met his mother, and his father raised him by himself. Draxel was taught the good word of Pelor his entire life, but was always skeptical of the power of Pelor.
During one of his trips to the nearby larger village to get supplies, his home village was raided (Eli was a part of the demon raiding party). Draxel's father did not survive, and from that point on, Draxel gave up hope on the divine powers of Pelor. He became an adventurer, and devoted his time to the bronze dragons, and thus became a dragon shaman. Over the time of his travels, he eventually found out about the path of the Dragonborn of Bahamut (at 6th level). He chose to become a Dragonborn of Bahamut, and became a leader of an adventuring party of his followers. He adopted a new name, Aujirlaraek ux Maekrix tibur Draxel, which means "Bronze Weapon Platinum Leader born as Draxel." This is meant to show that he gains his power from the power of bronze dragons, but his capabilities as a leader from the Platinum Dragon, Bahamut.
I haven't figured out a death for him yet (this is a place for other people to give suggestions and possibly integrate their storylines).
Alignment: Lawful Neutral (described in the PHB as "The Judge") Religion: Bahamut Personality: A kind guy who likes to lead people with respect and tolerance Character Traits: Hardy, Detached Character Flaw: Poor Reflexes Story Item: Cloak of Charisma +2 (bought by Draxel immediately after the rite of rebirth, and embroidered with the symbol of Bahamut)
Character Abilities: Draxel is a talented leader, a hardy fighter, and a decent healer, as he has a Touch of Vitality ability that is twice as good as the paladin's Lay on Hands.
Str: 12 Dex: 10 Con: 19 Int: 8 Wis: 8 Cha: 18
I don't check Ragnarok very often, so if you have any questions or suggestions, just email or IM me

Well, Powermad had a pretty good story up, he hasnt mentioned whether or not hes actually going to join the campaign... but I remember the main parts of his story, so if you guys think you could link up with it, just inform him of your ideas. Hopefully he will rewrite his outline has I do not have all of it in memory. (and Powermad, do join, you are welcomed to join, and we all do hope you will).
Anyways, his character is a gnome, for the purpose of this outline, we will call him Alpha-Guy-1... he has a brother, that he very much looks up to... eventually his brother gets caught up in a cult, Alpha-Guy-1 doesnt trust this group, but he looks out for his brother so he joins this faction to see what they are all about. He finds they are fairly extreme and eventually leaves, unfortunatly this faction starts waring on other neighbor cults... Alpha-Guy-1 unfortunatly is still seen as a member even though he left and he is soon killed.
Alpha-Guy-1s personality used to be happy and joyful (being a gnome) but with the unfortunate recent events, he has turned to drinking, and has become quite sad, but still tells jokes so as to cheer up others.
Religion: Olidammara Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Story Item: Traits: dishonest and outgoing Flaws:

That sounds like a really cool character and story, so I hope Powermad joins.
Okay here's my story. For the most part I will tell my story from my characters point of view. For more omniscient points my character wouldn't know I'll use double parentheses. I realize this is long, so if you don't want to read it all, there's a summary at the bottom.
My character is a gray elf, born in a secluded mountain citadel. His family name is Kethavain, which means wind spirit in elven. From an early age, he rarely spoke, but when he did, he was extremely insightful and intelligent. Thus his parents named him Ki'Ru, which means "silent dreamer." Thus his full name is Ki'Ru Kethavain. For his whole childhood, Ki'Ru disdained weapons of all kinds in favor of magic, which is also a perfectly acceptable calling for elves. So when he skipped out on swordplay lessons to study his spells, which he often did, no one bothered to tell him off.
As Ki'Ru grew older, he sharpened his magic skills, but remained unused to physical conflict. He was welcomed into the citadel guard as a mage, at the age of 120 (about 20 human equivalent). Due to his great skill in dealing with people, he quickly rose in rank to become his squad leader. His magic skill also improved quickly.
When Ki'Ru was 150 (24 human equivalent), strange creatures of darkness and evil began appearing on the roads leading to the citidel, and attacking travelers and elves alike. Ki'Ru and his squad were assigned to investigate and end this threat. After days of searching the mountain paths, a new cave was discovered, which led down into the mountains. After searching the cave, Ki'Ru learned that this was the source of the shadow creatures. His party fended off several off them. They continued down into the darkness, where even Ki'Ru's light spells seemed weakened.
The darkness grew stronger, and the party's moral grew weaker. Constant shadow monster attacks had claimed the lives of 2 of their best elves, and wounded many more. The wounds they left were difficult to heal, and seemed to injure one's very soul as well. Ki'Ru knew they were nearing the source of the problem, and they pressed onward. There then came of wave of cold and darkness which swept over the group. Torches flickered and went out. Almost all light spells were dispelled. Only Ki'Ru's lighted staff remained active, shedding it's dim globe of illumination weakly. Something moved in the darkness just beyond it. Something horrible. Then the sound of footsteps could be heard. A group of humanoids and fiends emerged ((one of which is eli's character)) all armored and bearing weapons. They had the light of battle in their eyes, but a touch of darkness in their souls. Fighting commenced without delay, and the well trained Gray Elf squad under Ki'Ru's command showed no mercy. The battle was going smoothly, and Ki'Ru himself dropped a couple of the attackers with his spells. His light kept wearing off, and he had to keep recasting it faster than normal. Just as the battle seemed all but won, Ki'Ru and the others felt that horrid presence manifest itself behind them. A hideous abomination of indescribable shadow seethed forth into the globe of light, which instantly fell weaker and went out. Ki'Ru used his last light spell on his staff, unveiling the havoc the new threat caused in his ranks. All but a few of the weaker enemies had already perished, but the shadow was still killing his warriors one by one. They fought bravely, longsword slashing, arrows flying, spells blazing. But the shadow was too much. After every blow it recoiled, only to surge forward, like an amorphous being of pure shadow, assuming physical shape beside it's attacker instantly and striking him down with brutal cuts by shadowy appendages which formed and reformed. Sometimes it assumed an entire physical shape: that of a shadowy human with nearly undefinable characteristics. Ki'Ru saw his last elf cut down, and the creature turned it's head towards him. It came towards him, eyes, nose, hair, arms, legs, all hazy and blurred. But the mouth was clearly there, hanging open with fangs protruding, as if to swallow all light whole. Then it was gone, coalescing into a vaporous mass which came forth, cutting into Ki'Ru as it passed. Ki'Ru fell to the ground. Darkness clouded his eyes, and he couldn't tell if his light spell was fading or he was just dying, if not both. Straining to see what form the being that felled him now assumed, he was surprised by what he saw. It was still a shadowy, hazy image, but now what stood before him was not a ghoulish creature, but an undeniably beautiful woman. A breeze through the cave seemed to blow her hair, and the incorporeal vapors of her body trailed off into the surrounding shade. She smiled in a nonchalant sort of way at him, as though she knew what he was about to do and didn't care to stop him. He raised his hand and uttered some incantations, launching his last spell, a scorching ray, at her. The beam of fire, which struck her directly, seemed to ignite the very darkness she was made of. Her figure burned away, devouring her entire being. The last thing Ki'Ru saw was a faint glimpse of her smile, before he passed out.
When he awoke, darkness surrounded him, Ki'Ru felt a piercing pain at his mid-section. A terrible slash ran from his left upper thigh up to the left side of his stomach. He felt cold and his spirit seemed to falter somewhat, as though shadow were creeping into him through the wound in his side. Nevertheless, Ki'Ru picked himself up and using the wall for support and guidance, he continued down the tunnel.
He knew he should go back, but he felt more by compulsion than by courage or loyalty that he should move on. After many hours of limping on like that, he encountered a larger cavern, illuminated by a pool of water, which seemed to give off a dim, bioluminescent light. Beyond the pool stood a large portal of swirling darkness. Ki'Ru knnew it for what it was: a portal to the plane of shadow, the source of the creatures of darkness. By the light of the pool, he practiced and prepared a spell he knew from his book, a spell to close and lock this gate. when he had rested some and drank from the pool, he prepared to cast his spell on the portal. Standing before it, he waved his hands and with the right words, caused a rift of energy to coincide with the gate, which began to shrink. However at the same time, tendrils of foggy darkness surged forth, wrapping around Ki'Ru, restraining him, and dragging him into the closing portal.
Ki'Ru stood in the middle of a vast gray field. The ground seemed to be made of packed dirt, but had the color of ash and dust. All around the darkness prevailed, the sky was black, giving the impression of eternal night. Something stirred in Ki'Ru's heart, and he knew the only way out of the darkness was to give in to it.
He didn't know exactly how long he stayed in that eternal prison of darkness, a few weeks he figured. Never once did he feel hungry or thirsty, nor did he feel tired. His wound even gradually healed, but it left a wicked scar. For all those days he did nothing but focus his mind on the shadow, willing himself to learn it's secrets, to use it's power. He became quickly accustomed to it's uses, but at the same time, he felt his old magics draining from memory. All of his spell energy seemed to be siphoned away over time, as if into another source he couldn't comprehend, being absorbed into the shadow like a sponge soaking water. Every day he found that he had forgotten more and more of the symbols and runes in his own spellbook, until at last he knew nothing at all of magic as he once knew it. Replacing this power he felt an ability to wield the mysteries of shadow. Using their power, he forced the shadow prison plane to release him.
He fell back out into the material plane, at the same pool of water he had left. The portal was gone, and he sensed no more shadow there in the tunnels. No more shadow which wasn't his own. Except he felt a familiar prescence. A familiar energy and something else which didn't belong. He felt it nearby, and then it was gone, moving back up the passage. Ki'Ru followed suit.
Once back at the citadel, he was welcomed by his friends and family. Everyone regarded him as a hero: he who stopped the shadow monsters. They marveled at the scar he had received. And everyone mourned the loss of the other elves.
Life continued as normal, then, for a few weeks time. Save one thing: Everyone acknowledged that there was something different about their hero. They sensed a darkness, and impending doom about him. Some had even taken to calling him Ki'Ruir, which means Dusk of the Silent Dreamer.
Finally, and the evening of the 17th day after his return, a cry rose up from the citadel streets. Elves emerged from their homes to find two youngsters, about 9 years old returning from play out on the trails ((one of them is Kagome's character's father, later)). They were standing over the corpse of a slain elf, the elder citadel priest, crying. As Ki'Ru approached the growing crowd of elves, one of the youngsters recoiled and cried out in horror, pointing at him and shouting "Murderer! Ki'Ruir is a murderer!" Ki'Ru denied this accusation, claiming to have been in his home all day, but more elves came forward, admitting they saw from their windows that Ki'Ru had commited the crime. Ki'Ru, former hero of the citidel, was chained and brought before a tribal council. They sentenced him to exile, and the last thing they said before he was released the next afternoon and sent forth from the citidel was this: "May Corellon's justice be swift and merciless on you, Ki'Ruir Firavain (which means dark spirit)."
9 hours later, Ki'Ru was killed.
On the path late that night, he saw a shadowy figure approaching. The figure moved silently, and he felt a familiar energy bound to it again. Although it approached him, it never grew any less shadowy, and by the time it met him and raised it's face to him, he realized it was a shadow. A shadow of himself. A mirror reflection. And it raised his hands and muttered the words he could barely remember as those for scorching ray. Ki'Ru had only time to make the connections in his head. "Well how about that. . ." He smiled as he said this. "I am the murderer."
Summary: Basically my character is a gray elf who lives in a citadel. Shadow monsters start appearing and he goes into the cave with a group of warriors to stop them. They are attacked by a shadowy monster and a group of fiends and evil fighters ((one of which is eli's character)). They are all killed in the battle save my character, who finishes off the evil beast, but is badly wounded by it's shadowy cut. Finding a portal, he closes it, but gets sucked in just before it shuts. There he has to learn the ways of shadow to force his way out, but his magic power (he was a wizard) is drained away. Finally he escapes and returns home, but although he is a hero, his elven bretheren sense there is something different and forboding about him, and shun him somewhat. A few weeks later, some people ((one of which ends up being Kagome's character's father, later)) witness him murdering someone, although he was in his home all day and didn't do it. He is accused anyway and is sentenced to exile. After being on the path only one day, he encounders a shadow of himself, which uses a wizard spell to kill him.

Ok, just to let you all know, as far as character connections...
You all can have 1 or 2 direct connections (IE Pauls character eating Blakes)... but most should be indirect influences through lore. Basically my hope is that an entire world would be somewhat created, and all of you should have some part in the lore.

No, your characters do not need to know the lore, the generic people of the place you guys come from would... Just think of your backstories in terms of lore and legends. Stuff like that.

A small update, I was helping Nick with some possible character links when he said he didnt want to be in the campaign if it required work on a character... so hes out... normally I wouldnt mind save that he is the Cleric.
Do not worry, I had already planned that you guys meet some cleric NPCs early on... so we shall see how it goes.
Just thought ide let everyone know that they dont have to link or anything with Nicks character.
EDIT- Alright, I have decided that Nick deserves a second (3rd) chance... he never really wanted to play a Divine Class anyways, it was kinda forced on him.

15-14-12-16-8-8 18-14-10-18-8-8 Name: Tabassum Brisko (Tab for short) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Race: Grey Elf Type: Duskblade Religion: Baccob Personality: Friendly to people around him but loves a fight. Character Traits: Reckless, Hardy Story Item: Belt of str from a friend as a memory of his old town. (Cost 4000)
Tab grew up in his, not exactly tiny, but fairly small town. He stayed there for around 100 years as most elves would but they left out to travel as soon as he could. He traveled as a warrior, but soon became interested seeing a group fighting with magic. He didn't dump his fighting in favor of it but rather combined it with his current fighting style. He is always setting out to better himself so he mearly took this as another chance to become more powerful.
Around a year since he left his home town, he came upon a very big city. It was full of people and characters and happens to be the same city vash worked in and who's family owned many attractions. Tab grew a strong bond to the arena there and began to know many people there, and also found it a great way to become stronger.
However, on the incident vash's character had, man attractions started to shut down, including the arena he loved so much, and many of Tab's friends started to leave. So he left for a good while, recklessly packing up and not thinking which direction to head.
He eventually came across a tail from an old friend from town that told of great treasure through a tough beast in a dungeon. Following his friend's directions just as he had heard it, he sprung a trap and took 9d6 damage, dropping him to -11 hp. (Just kidding, but essentially he died because his "friend" he used to know from town lead him into a rather nasty spike trap for revenge on an arena battle.)

Well the time has finally come, I think you guys have had enough time to ponder your characters... I would like you to each fill out this form as I (and other players, and you) will be referencing it. Also once this is complete I will decide how much exp you guys get for completion (will be a lot!). Please just quote my post to keep the bold, you may erase the italics though. Most of you have all this done, except for the actual back story, some of you (Such as Andrew and Danielle) basically have the back story complete, whereas others either need to finish some parts of it, or add in character tie ins. I dont want it to be very long (but long is alright)... for a good style, detail and length ide take a look at Michaels post here... Alright, so here is my character: As a small child, Draxel was brought up by the stories told by the elders of the small village in which he lived. Granted his is not complete yet... but really im not that strict just be sure to get what needs to be explained explained. Michael, I would also like to note that I will be filling one of these out for your Cohort. Ide like to have everyones filled out and posted like 4-5 days before the campaign starts (so about 2-3 weeks from now, but you can post them as soon as you finish them). Also with regard to Danielle and Eli for story items, since you guys have story blood (kinda) you guys wont start off with it, however I will allow you to start off with the normal 8000 gold story item (it just will not get upgraded, instead you guys get the race upgrades). ----QUOTE THE FOLLOWING---- Character Name:Level:Race:Age:Abilities at lvl 6 + magic items:-Str:-Dex:-Con:-Int:-Wis:-Cha:Alignment:Plus a small explanation, should only be a sentence or two.Religion:Include Explanation, if your character is not very pious you really do not need to worry about it.Traits:Must have at least 1, but I do recommend 2... these are found in Unearthed ArcanaPersonality:Should be short and to the point, a couple sentences at most.Flaw:Max 1, can have 0. Flaws give you a free feat for taking, they are found in Unearthed ArcanaBonus Minor Feat:This can be any minor feat such as toughness or skill focus, if you want more choices talk to me about it.Story Item:- Story Item:- Story Item Cost:- Explanation:Short and to the point... a sentence or two will do.Player Tie Ins:Short and really loose, the detailed part should be included in your back story.Cause of Death:Short and really loose, the detailed part should be included in your back story.Back Story:This is the detailed part... but doesn't need to be more than a few paragraphs. Be sure to include all important events in your characters life, also try to portray personality, character tie ins, religion, story item, class, alignment, character death, etc.... of course these are really loose guidelines, just do what you feel is required to be mentioned. From these stories your character should have a past he or she can relate to, and you should be able to tell how they would act in a situation based on their personality. Some of you have already written this, so do not worry. Basically just add detail to your outline.

Character Name: Aujirlaraek ux Maekrix tibur Draxel (Bronze Weapon, Platinum Leader, born as Draxel) Level: Dragon Shaman 6 (edited by Azan) Race: Dragonborn of Bahamut Age: 120 (since being reborn)
Abilities at lvl 6 + magic items: -Str: 12 -Dex: 10 -Con: 19 -Int: 8 -Wis: 8 -Cha: 18
Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Described in the PHB as "The Judge." Draxel is reserved, and keeps to himself, but does not hesitate to show his opinion.
Religion: Worships Bahamut as part of his race. Gives reverence as well to bronze dragons, his dragon of choice for the dragon shaman class.
Traits: Hardy, Detached
Personality: Very detached, keeps fairly silent, but is a terrific leader. When needed, is quick to give direction and help his fellow people, but only speaks when necessary. Also, will not hesitate to punish those he deems worthy.
Draxel has no faith in Pelor, due to his history. He is cautious around most divine magic, as he does not have much trust in its ability, but he is most wary of Pelor. Because Pelor did not save his mother or his father, he has lost all faith in him.
Another note: Due to his poor reflexes, Draxel is not quite fearful of but definitely uncomfortable around places where good reflexes are helpful. For instance, Draxel is uncomfortable around heights, and avoids taking risks on them when he can. If there was a cliff, Draxel wouldn't mind standing on it, but having to fight or be in other ways active would make him uncomfortable."
Flaw: Poor Reflexes
Bonus Minor Feat: Self-Sufficient
Story Item: - Story Item: Cloak of Charisma +2 - Story Item Cost: 4,000 - Explanation: Draxel bought the cloak after being reborn, and had it embroidered with a symbol of Bahamut. The cloak is a symbol of his status as a leader and a follower of Bahamut.
Player Tie Ins: -Eli's character killed Draxel's family -Paul's character was ostracized while reenacting Draxel's death
Cause of Death: Got slightly arrogant in a bar fight, and was not cautious, and the fight ended quickly with him getting stabbed in the heart with a fire poker.
Back Story: As a small child, Draxel was brought up by the stories told by the elders of the small village in which he lived. Draxel's mother died before he was born, and despite his father's desperate efforts, the power of Pelor could not keep her alive. Draxel was taught the good word of Pelor his entire life, but was always skeptical of his alleged power.
When in a bar at one point, Draxel's devotion to Bahamut was made fun of and he started a fight with another person in the bar. The man saw Draxel as an abomination who abandoned his race. However, he overlooked the man who happened to be a drunken master that stabbed him with a fireplace poker.

Character Name: Amallae Estianna (Elvaan Lady of the Beautiful Harmony.) Then later was renamed Amallae Maihelia (Sad Mistress of the Beautiful Harmony) Level:Lvl 5 Bard Race: Half Celestial/Half Gray Elf Age:101 (looks 17 or 18)
Abilities at lvl 6 + magic items: -Str:8 -Dex:18 -Con:9 -Int:10 -Wis:10 -Cha:20
Alignment: Chaotic Good (Chaotic due to her being half elf. Good due to her being half celestial)
Religion: Pelor and Corellon being that her mother was a messenger of peace from Pelor and her father's Citadel being a place of worship for Corellon. Of course she isn't extremely pious and is very open minded of those who worship other Gods (except evil for the most part)
Traits: Plucky and Easy-Going Personality: Easy-go-lucky and a generally quick learner. She is kind to all and mostly liked which can cause her to get attached to people and things very quickly and very passionately. But even when she isn't completely attached she will go into deep melancholy if something bad happens to them. Ever since the loss of her ablility to flight she can switch randomly, as if she were bipolar, into a state of deep melancholy. Generally very trusting and naive which can lead her into trouble. Has much trouble lying or "bluffing" and can let her slight vanity get in the way of first impressions. Flaw: Vulnerable
Bonus Minor Feat: Skill Focus
Story Item: - Story Item: Medal of Gallantry - Story Item Cost:1100 - Explanation: My father and a few others got them when they brought Ki'Ru forth for judgement and exile, as heros. My father at the time was deeply disturbed by Ki'Ru's claim of innocence for he was not one to lie despite the fact he'd seen the crime. And for years to come he'd thought of it like one would think of blood money. But when Amallae was young she'd grown quite fond of the little medal and the story that came with it that he gave it to her.
Player Tie Ins: My father got Ki'ru exiled and later the legend of Ki'Ruir Firavain became Amallae's muse for studying shadow magic and for naming her son.
Cause of Death: Died giving birth to her son. Back Story: Amallae was the daughter of a celestial ambassador (mother) from Bytopia and a Gray Elf (father) in a nearby Citadel (on the material plane). She was raised in both the Material Plane and Bytopia. She always had a natural knack for music and dance, which was obvious since shortly after she was born and thus named Amallae (Beautiful Harmony). When she was born the elves in the citadel were so proud of the union of a holy celestial and one of their own, the one who even saved the town, they chose her family name to forever be Estianna (meaning Elvaan Lady). She was trained to be a bard by the Gnomes in Bytopia. She was raised knowing both worlds/planes, though stayed in the Citadel while on the material plane with her father while her mother traveled around the plane. She'd often come home exhausted and when questioned about her travels avoided responses or answered in ways no one understood. As a child growing up in the citadel she was told stories by her father. One being when he was a teenager there was a young adult who with some others in the Citadel went off to fight some creature. Only one came back. The others were very happy to see him alive. Though when they watched closely they noticed that he had changed and become very. . . dark. A few days later there was a murder in the Citadel. My father claiming he saw the young man kill the victim. He was then banished from the Citadel where no one saw him again. This intrigued Amallae so that she started to study some of the dark magic. Knowing she was not much of a spell caster or fighter she could not be a Shadowcaster or Shadowblade. Nor was she evil or had a mean spirit so that she could not do anything that would make her act that way. And so Amallae decided to do what would best suit her skills. . . Dancing. And thus she started to study the ways of the Shadowdancer. As she got older she became more and more beautiful . . . and powerful. Many men in the citadel and nearby towns/villages tried to win her heart but none could. Despite her lack of commitment she took on lovers. The closest thing devotion she ever gave anyone was when she told one of her lovers after much coaxing and persuasion that she'd marry him. The reason for that was she'd found out she was pregnant previously. Before she had the chance to tell her lover, he went off to fight a minor battle and was killed. Shocked and depressed Amallae stopped caring for herself and only went out to train in shadowdancing and to get herbs to keep the baby healthy. After some time had passed Amallae realized that her muscles had grown weak and her wings useless and she could no longer fly which only made her more depressed. The elves rarely saw her but when they did they noticed her newly found melancholy. Shortly before she was due her 100 birthday came and the elves gave her another name in which to call her instead of letting her select an adult name. They picked it to be Maihelia (Sad Mistress). By the time she gave birth she was so weak that she could not survive the process. When her son was born. She was weak and dying. She took her last few breaths and with little thought named her son after her legendary muse, Ki'Ruir Firavain. Then she took her last breaths, smiling at her son and whispering her love for him. Then she died.
