I am a canadian citizen and i've been so intrigued about Americans and in my opinion America is great, but my country it's like a bunch of pussies who when goto war just call it "peacekeeping" instead of War to make it seem less harmful. If America and Canada were one country we would be the ultimate super power, more powerful than china or Britian. So i'm just starting this debate just to see other people's opinion.

Hmm well heres my opinion, it is Canada's desision of course, and if Canada became a US state, we would have 51 states which would throw a bunch of stuff off, or we could just combine it with another state, hmm im gonna have to think for a bit, ill give ye my opinion later.

hmm... not a bad idea...
however, azan is right with having 51 states, it would be too confusing it could be a territory, though, that would be nice

canada has a rich history in its self, and should remain its own country. plus they would only make the US 10% stronger. besides, the political climate is too far different from the US one for it ever to happen.

Moto, stop bitching, you have no idea how good you have it up there. You don't have satan as the vice president with his hand up the president's ass, your healthcare system rocks, you're not permanently imbedded in Iraq, and it's really pretty country up there.

Dont worry Moto, Demon is just a bit crazy/anti bush. but anyway yeah Canada is still a great nation, and perhaps we can just try to open up better relations between our two countries (even though our relations are about as high as they can go).

This is what I hate. Just because I'm not as clean-spoken as Gamerman, no one takes me seriously on this board. Everyone's pretty much ignored my giant post on fox news on "The Media" thread.

Well if you want people to take you seriosly maybe you should be less insulting, and I took you seriosly, you bring up a good point, I only said that so Moto wouldnt be offended. And yes I have noticed that too, many people ignore opinions that threaten their beliefs in this board.

And yes I have noticed that too, many people ignore opinions that threaten their beliefs in this board. Our if they are too long and people are too lazy they don't get read. But besides that some points are made multiple times and seems like they are being ignored. And I agree with Azan, 51 states would make everything confusing. But maybe if something happend to one of the states, or if we connect it with some. But I think everythings good as it is.

Canada is doing very well for itself for most countries (and you dont want Canada to go down if the US goes down )

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! What the hell are you talking about? Canada would make a great 51st state! Of course it is entirely up to Canada, but will you people listen to yourselves? "51 states would make things too confusing, blah blah blah." What exacly do you mean by that? The only difference would be some legal stuff and that stupid 50 states song. "we need to preserve the rich history of Canada" okay, but did we ever stop to think about the history of other places? Also Canada will always be Canada no matter what country it is, making it a state won't change it's history. And Demon, will you please, either shut up or die, because I am quite sick of hearing you complain about everything in the United States. You wanna change things? Go run for office, but don't count on my vote, because you would be a terrible leader.
51 states... you people make me sick. You think when we had 48 states there weren't a few rules that got messed up when we got Alaska and Hawaii? Of course there were, but that shouldn't stop us from buying up some extra land, should it?

ya, the 51st state song excuse is the worse arguement I have ever heard. And it wouldn't be teh state of canada, there would be one for each provence (so 63 states after joining). but again, joining canada and US is stupid and pointless, canadians are canadians, and citizens of the US are citizens of the US, there is no need to make them into one nationality.

It would make both countries into one larger, more powerful country. Sounds like reason enough to me. There's no harm done in putting the countries together, only good.
