Is it worth the money to get cable? Or would it be better to spend that money on other things? I'll post my opinion later

Yes/Double Yes/Very Yes
Why wouldn't it be worth it? If I didn't have cable I probably wouldn't watch TV at all. There just wouldn't be anything I like. Not to mention the faster internet is a really nice bonus.

now, see, here's the thing. why watch TV in the first place? the only shows I ever watch are sometimes CSI and occasionally The Simpsons. plus, you can get cable internet without cable TV, you know.
so, why watch TV that much? I mean, even playing a video game is better, you're at least interacting with it.

no, I do not, but I see it all the time, all of my relatives have it (and I mean ALL), most if not all of my friends have it, and I used to have it, and I think there are much better things to do with the money

See, the thing is, if you actually spent a fair amount of your day watching cable, you'd probably think it would be worth it. (Not saying just sit there and watch cable 24/7, just watch a fair amount of it. Like playing 5 min of Halo 2 and judging it then, rather than playing it for a good hour or so, and trying out everything in it.)Especially since you see us talking about the shows on cable all the time, but you can't seeing as how your not even sure what we're talking about.

yeah, but why would I spend a fair amount of my day watching cable when there are so many other things that are more fun, or just more interactive

no, im saying that when you watch TV, all you do is sit there and watch it. I mean, movies are cheaper than cable, and can be really good, but say that cable is $30 a month. that's $360 a year. you're paying to sit on your couch. on the other hand, I got halo, which cost $30, last christmas, and I still play it regularly.
i mean, I can see watching tv, but i'm pretty sure I can live without it, just like I have for the last 7 years of my life

lemme put it simply
im going to buy The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion when it comes out in november.
the game will most likely cost $50-60, and theres a good chance that it will provide entertainment for me for at least a year.
if cable was $30 a month (which it isnt, it's more expensive) it would cost $360 for a year of cable
what a waste of money

I voted no, as cable tv isnt, you want to go for satelite, the sad part is is that its not only far far cheaper than cable all the channels are digital so if you own a high end TV its going to look alot better.
The only downside to satelite is sometimes you cant get a signal during huge thunderstorms, but in that kindof weather you shouldnt have your TV on unless you dont care if it gets wrecked.
People may say "But then you cant get cable internet as cheap" well what my family does is pay 5 bucks for basic cable so we get like 10 bucks off our cable internet, then buy dish, we save so much money and whats said is we dont even use the basic cable but hey we save around 19 bucks a month.
